    Best way to count/separate brass?

What the best way to count separate brass?

Does anyone do it by weight? I'm looking to polish and separate into 100, 500, 1000 piece bags.

    Any suggestions?

I hand count in 100 rd increments - but I like exact counts instead of +/- 1 or 2 which can result from doing it by wt.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

If you want EXACT, then you ALMOST have to count by hand...

Weight will get you CLOSE enough tho, so dun be anal about it!! :-)

Most of the time, it is pretty accurate for non-mixed brass. One kind of brass(same headstamp and year code, if avail) are pretty consistant...

Go by weight and throw an extra 5 cases in for good measure!

i go by volume...its not even close to being accurate, but my time is worth a lot more than a few pieces of brass.. i get a cup, count what it takes to fill that cup.. do some quick math, then start scooping..

if a friend asks me for 1000 pcs, i throw in an extra cup to make sure.. 1000+

i imagine weighing could be fairly accurate, but if you're looking for precise numbers, physically counting is about it..

Pick up a guy, that 'will work for food.' Give the guy a burger and a coke, set him up on your driveway, and let him sort it out.

I doubt that most of those guys will ACTUALLY work for food.

I dunno, I've never been much for guns. I mean, sure, we have the usual gun by the door, another near the TV, one in the kitchen, and another in the bedroom...and several others laying around. For the most part though, we keep our home free of guns. We are peace loving folks.

I like the way you're thinking buddy, but I suspect this would result in a good example of "You get what you pay for."

I doubt Mr. Burger Worker is going to differentiate between .380 and 9mm or .357 and .30 Carbine... or be willing to count to 100 for that matter.

Probably. Counting to 100 might be a stretch without the Thunderbird.
BTW - Got another 5 gallon bucket of brass for you. All rifle.

Good man. I'm glad I've got you scrounging for me too.

Now I just need to put on my Tom Sawyer hat and tell you how much fun it is to sort brass... maybe if I buy you a happy meal.
