    Best brass/ case polishing method

Ok, so I know there are some guys out there that love to get their brass really shiny. I have tried tumbling my brass and all I get is brass with the "smooth, tumbled' look, I can never get them really shiny.

I currently use Frankford Arsenal treated walnut media with a little Flitz in it.

I've tried tumbling for 2 hours, 12 hours, and pretty much everything in the middle. I went out and bought some corncob media today from the pet store ($5.50 for about 7 lbs.) in hopes it may help with the shine factor.

I know what I have will shoot fine, but I want bling, bling brass baby!!

    So here's my question:

What is the trick(s) to really shiny brass? And what is your brass/ case cleaning ritual?

    Thanks guys.

    Simple Green in the media.
I'm only smiling at you while you talk to me because it's hilarious that you really think I give a crap about you.

As I've gotten older I thought I was gaining patience, then I realized I simply don't give a crap.

I use a couple of sprays ( I put it undiluted in a small spray bottle) in a tumbler bowl of corn cobb - turn it on a few minutes to let it mix well and add brass. I don't shoot nickle but I've done this for a couple of years with brass with no problems and the brass is as shiney as new.

NU car polish!!!! Here is THE secret!

You can certainly use "Frankford Arsenal Brass Case Polish 8 oz Liquid", but the Nu stuff is as good. Just drop 1/2 a cap full of it into the media and let it go for a couple of minutes before adding ur brass.

I just finished tumbling 1K of once fired brass in my RCBS tumbler. I tumbled them for two days in a row with straight walnut shells. Came out cleaner, but not shiney. So I put some old "Meguiar's Deep Gloss" car polish in from the shelf in the pantry and BAM, couple hours later they were shiney. Who knows how long that stuff has been in there. The price tag is from a store that I've never heard of.. and i've lived here for 26 years.

              I use 3M non-embedding rubbing compound.
Add a couple teaspoons to the media and tumble for a few minutes before adding the brass.

Be sure that you don't over use your cleaning media. I clean range brass with walnut hull & Nu-Finish. Prep brass & load. After rounds are loaded, I case gauge the stuff than run them in fine corn cob for 30 minutes or so. Comes out nice!

No matter how much we tumble, the primer pocket and the inside of the case never get clean.
                  What about:
                  1) Deprime used brass
                  2) Rinse used brass in water to remove dirt & debris
                  3) Resize with case lube
                  4) Ultrasonic cleaning for 20 minutes
                  5) Dry
                  6) Reload
                  7) Polish
                  Thanks,

Nor does it matter because a little burn inside the case and primer pocket does not effect anything.
It gets pretty damn hot in there under normal working conditions.

I tried some of that pretreated media and it just didn't work for me. I'm using the left over media and about 3-5 table spoons of dillon polish running for 4 hours and they come out very nice.

Makes sense. Does that little burn in the neck affect the bullet seating?
                        Thanks,
