I think they are.

To answer the OP, I mostly use 9mm because it's the economic choice for shooting. Plus IPSC Production doesn't have any bonus for Major.

The largest caliber that you can handle to make sufficiently accurate follow up shots. . . That's the one you should have your handgun chambered it...
