    Reload Class?

Im not sure if reloading ammo is for me. I have done my research but iam still not sure and I dont want to invest in any equipment yet. Does anybody know if there are any classes set up to teach basic reloading in the LA or Orange county Area?

There is a Free reloading seminar at Field Time Sports in Westminster this Saturday morning.

Also for the first time there will be a tactical Shot shell loading seminar on Sunday. The loading of OO Buck, Slugs and Rock salt.

As for equipment I was in there yesterday and he has several Hornady single station kits in stock.

Not much though in the way of primers powder and bullets however.

Seriously? Rock salt? Wow. That must be for animals or something because rock salt for home defense is a myth and dangerous...

rock salt rounds are for hunting snails and slugs. Unlike shotgun slugs, which are not slugs for hunting slugs. Don't forget, you use the rock salt loads in your slug gun, and the slugs for big game in your slug gun. Never confuse your slug gun for your slug gun. Unless you already hunted your game and need to season it before cooking. Then by all means use your slug gun. Sometimes I add paprika to my rock salt loads.

Captain Ron, Why not just meet up with a friendly Calguns member and reload using his equipment? I'm sure you have plenty of nice guys down there. I'd extend the offer but I assume you dont want to drive to San Jose.

Don't expect to see anything official any time soon, but CalGuns (C3) is in the process of putting together a reloading class. It's a very slow process and it will take some time to get your local CG/C3 chapter to participate, if anyone even wants to spearhead the project in your area. Travel will be very limited.

What's you location Captain? And were you born in '84? I could possibly spare some time on the weekend to demonstrate if you're interested.

The class at the Reloading Store at Angeles Range is the way to go. It is two full days and is done 3 weekends a month.

About 15 years ago I was cleaning out a cobinet at work when I came across some shot gun reloading componets. The owner and his nephew where avid shotgun hunters. With all of the hulls, primers, wads and shot I found a bag of rock salt! When I asked the owner is this was was for he didn't really say anything so when I asked his nephew he started to laugh. The story I was than told was the owners dad who was 75 years old at the time would load the rock salt up and use it on the UFW treaspassers during the Union strikes back in the 60's in the tomato fields. He was from Texas!

Rock salt is good for ghosts, according to the "Supernatural" TV Show!

This is one case where the internet is your friend. Check youtube, there are many good examples of what to do. It can be as simple (and time consuming as this)

That lee loader costs like $25 (assuming they aren't out of stock everywhere).

Check youtube seriously LOTS of video showing different machines etc, but they all do the same steps as in that video with the little lee loader.

Deprime, resize, reprime, charge, seat bullet.

On Youtube there is a series of loading videos by Ammosmith.com. Very much on target, stresses safety, professional quality and a whole series frombeginning to end...also shows various pieces of equipment. Get a couple of loading manuals (ABC's of Reloading is a basic book...the Lyman loading manual and the Speer loading manual are all good...yes they cost a bit but if you read those...watch the videos and get some hands on help...you too can reload safely and have some fun doing it...Components are an issue right now with folks scalping powder and primers, etc but lots of us think that's a passing thing and will resolve itself within a reasonable period...if you read and watch the vids and hit a class or two you will be way ahead when things free up.

It's a ways from you but "La Mesa Collectables" (in Santee of all places) has a reloading class (check the web)...it's on Saturdays and costs $75 or so....hands on instruction with good equipment...solid guys...they fill them up so contact them about the next classes if it works for you ....load safe and enjoy.
God and the Constitution give me my rights and actions...any other input is just blabbering.

OH YEAH. OKAY. I see now. I remember the REAL LIVE ZOMBIE clip on you tube about some poor kid that was turned to a zombie and was walking abck and forth outside a chain link fence. Rock salt would be good to load up and shoot him with. I should see if he is still hanging around that house that was filming him and posting it on you tube...
