Absolutely agree with everything you're saying. Generally, we all have to filter the information given. For some time now, I've been of the general impression that one caliber was better than another since "those in the seemly know" say with certainty, and conviction. I now have some information that may 'shift' the paradigm of thought.
It certainly seems from Martin Fackler's work that there's a lot of information out there that is myth. Got a lot more reading to do but you've pointed me in some new directions. I hate giving bad advice, especially if someone else may be depending on that advice for self defense.
The worst part about getting older and learning a lot more, is both the realization that you know less than you initially thought, that you learned some of it incorrectly, and that there's so much more to know then time allows.
