This^ Brownells is great too if you have your ffl03 (get one if you don't they are 30$) Unlike midway you can still use coupons at brownells, plus there prices are decent to begin with. You also get really good dealer pricing at grafs.

Pick up the current version of the Lyman reloading book. It's currently available on amazon for less than $20.

They use various components and powders, no brand loyalties there.

I'd start there if it were I.

Since I load 125 gr. exclusively, I use 9 grains of Unique, Win std small pistol primer topped of with Berry's FP plated. I get 1,200+ fps out of a 4" barrel, 1.575" OAL. When I use to use 158 gr. 2400 was my go to powder.

All you have to do is Google grain to lb conversion.

7000 grains to a pound. Using 15 grains per round is 466 and 2/3 loads per pound.

Favorite load: 125 gr Hornady XTP over 19 gr of Win 296. Past 20 gr I get sticky extraction from my Blackhawk. Hodgdon data goes up to 22 grains, I'd never run that.

There is a lot of talk about not loading Win 296 / H110 at less than 5% of max load. However the data in my Hornady manual violates that supposed rule and I have loaded down with no ill effects. I ran plated 125 gr Rainier bullets with some old data someone posted at 17.6 gr of Win 296 and they worked great.

A combo of a chronometer plus a manual would tell you what your gun likes.
