Moving ammo from AZ to CA

Can personally owned ammunition (rifle, handgun, shotgun) be moved by owner to CA from AZ in a U-Haul truck?

Generally yes. I think tracer ammo and ammo in belts is prohibited.

CA is crazy but not that crazy. Some ammo is prohibited but you can move it all you want.

Belted ammo is fine as long as it doesn't exceed ten rounds per belt.

Right, that is the limitation. The belt can be a "hi cap"

I think you can haul loose rounds in a dump truck if you like.

If you see black helicopters at the border, don't worry too much. They might land and check your magazine capacity is all.

As others have said, leave the tracers and make sure belts are 10 rounds or less.

Ammo weighs ALOT so make sure you distribute the weight correctly in the truck.

When we moved out, mine went in the bed of the truck which is a 3/4 ton. It dropped the bed of the truck about 2 1/2". I actually had to unload some other stuff as when I hitched up the boat, I was riding on the bump stops.
Starve the beast, move to a free state.

As others mentioned, leave the tracers. Oh, and dont drive over the Hoover Dam if your going to hit Vegas on the way over. There is a 1k round limit allowed over the dam.
