H110 and W296 because they near fill available case capacity and they burn slow. They're still burning when bullet exits the muzzle...VOILA... Flame and wave for the folks that get a hoot outta that.

You already have W296. It is the exact same thing as h110, same parent company as well. I haven't tried aa#9 or 2400. I have a feeling they will be a little milder than h110.
The A5744, that I used for 460, was milder than h110. The loads with 5744 still sounded impressive, but they were moving slower and didn't recoil as much. I don't know if 5744 is good for 44 Mag. You would have to look up the load data.

J/K = Just Kidding about the 44 for girls, but you probably knew that. The 460 is for girls too, my mom shoots it.

Hawk sells Bear Creek bullets, which are molly coated lead. I don't know how fast you will be able to push them, but they work well in my 460 for light loads and they do well in my dad's 1911 45acp. He also sells some powder and primers for decent prices. Last time I bought 9mm BC bullets they were $53 per thousand. I haven't seen any place on the net that sells for less.

Yeah yeah I was kidding wit the 44 mag.
That is some good pricing for the bullets. I think I wanna get some more for the 45. Is he always there?

Yeah, CALGUNS Hand Cannon Division... Gotta have 10mm or bigger to join...

What exactly are the steel targets?

BTW, I got a reply from Competition electronics and they said to use the diffusers on a very bright day and or use the chrony on an overcast day for best results...

Imma gonna get some sharpies to color the tips of the ones I have now. Would be nice if I could just dip them in something to give them a black coating that will not come off. Hmmm, spray them down with graphite might work...

Hawk is there on most days. I think he probably takes his days off during the week. The weekend is more busy=more money for him.

Dualling trees=6" plates flip from side to side when you hit them-6 plates
Plate rack=6" plates that fall backward when hit, but all 6 can be reset with a rope.
texas star=looks like a snowflake that spins. it has 5-7 plates that fall off when hit, but it spins when it is out of balance=moving targets
spring loaded squirrels= fold back when hit, but then spring back up.

Dualling trees are very nice since you don't have to reset them.
Plate racks take some work to move, but are very fun.
Texas star takes a bit of time to reset, but is a challenge.

There are others, but I don't want to drag out a ton of stuff when time is limited and I am just plinking.

This Sunday will be another match with all of these targets. There will be 6 different berms setup and the cost is $35. It takes 200-400 rounds of ammo. Many people like to use a 9mm pistol. 22 LR pistols and rifles are used but they don't always knock down the targets. Rifles that take pistol ammo such as 9, 40, 45 are used as well. I usually practice after the match with other pistols as well. It can be run for time (to compete) or just for fun.

Here are a few photos of the berms and targets.

Are you talking about coloring the bullets?

              excel sheet of loads tried

[QUOTE=CGT80;8486937]Very nice write up and data. I like to keep a log like that so I can refer back when I question a load. I use an excel file to keep track of my loads. I hand write it on a printed page, then later I type the loads and notes in. I print the page and keep it in my black folder of load data. I have pages for each gun I load for, this can save me from retesting loads I already did. If you would like, I could email the file if you want to see it or use it. I also have a file to print my load labels on avery labels. Yeah I'm a little OCD. I like mine to look pro and my writing isn't exactly great.
Are you willing to send me a copy of your work? I would love to have it to start my quest for my silver DE 44 mag.

You should use enough velocity so the slide can work properly .I shoot a 44 m revolver so it does not matter.Lately I loaded some bear creek 240, 10 gr of unigue it's a easy load to shoot.I want to get some h110 for some hot loads.

Nice racks are much better. You can grab both sides of the rack to help stabilize while mounting.

                  H110 is a hand-slapping powder. Fun stuff.

Just make sure that you have a very tight fitting powder thrower. This stuff is so fine it almost flows like water. I'm fortunate that my old RCBS uniflow has an amazingly smooth, yet tight, fit.

                    Desert Eagle Loads

You may want to try Accurate #9, in my experience you will get better results. This will lower case pressure and reduce slide velocities.
