Primer crimp removal on a progressive press?

I watched the youtube video of the Dillon swager with the rubber band. WOW! That's cranking compared to what I'm doing with my RCBS. If I go with a Dillon 650, I'll add that to the order.

Super Swager is super easy, but I think the faster way is to just use your deburring tool and ream it out.

I have both the RCBS and the Dillon and it's night and day. Also did you see the video of the guy slightly refining it with a spring instead of a rubberband?

What is crimped military brass?

I do not get it. I decapped several thousands of .223 cases and I never had any problems doing it. I think it took me about 3-4 hours to decap about 2000 rounds while watching tv one night. I have NO problems using my Lee hand press and universal decapper. A total investment of about $40 after shipping.

What am I missing here? I decap ALL of my stuff before I start the cleaning process so that is why I will decap all of my collected brass first.
Recently I decapped 1000 Lake City cases that I got from MRE depot that were supposedly military. I did not notice anything special with them.
Some of the brass even had the nato mark on them. Same with some of the 9mm brass that I have come across.

I have only decapped several thousand shells at this point, I have not yet reloaded any except for a few 9mm but I am new to reloading and I have spent most of my time cleaning them all up and looking perty. :\

What am I not getting here? Imma go look at my brass now...

Stilly, most NATO cases have a crimp around the perimeter of the primer. De-capping is not an issue. It's inserting new primers that is an issue on crimped cases. The new primer will bind on the edge of the primer pocket upon being pressed in. Swaging or chamfering is required to "roll" the edge of the primer pocket so you're not popping primers as you insert them.

I am going to have to go look at my cases a bit closer. What is wrong with that dillon super swage thingy in the movie? Do a few hundred here and a few hundred there and it should be taken care of in about a month or so I would think. I could not tell what was going on in that video since it showed no case before and after. I will certainly go look at my natos in the morning. Is it just natos or are there several brands? I remember the issues with removing crimped primers. I found no issue now it is what they leave behind... Oh well, I got 1k cases of 08 .223 and 2 50 cal amo cans for $90 I can't complain too much I guess...
