    Sorting brass sucks.........

What do yall use to sort pistol cases? 9mm,40,45, etc? I believe Dillon has some "sorting bowls". Anyone used them or??

    Thanks

Yup, those are great! I had 2 sets but only 1 with the .380 plate, even though I do not reload anymore I still keep mine so I can sort and sell my brass.

They work really good. Fits over a 5 gal bucket so any garbage picked up like dirt will sift threw to the bucket. I consider it a must have for reloading.

I have kids that sort with me.

I have added the following info to satisfy any members that may be concerned that my children are sorting brass in a sealed cardboard box with no venilation and then smearing any lead across their face so they can lick it off of eachothers faces and then pick their noses. The following info should put all concerns by happy meal banning gal gunners to rest.

My kids wear gloves, we sort outside and all brass has been washed with soap, rinsed and then dried before my kids touch the brass, They wear gloves and wash their hands immediately afterwards.

Way over priced, but does the job very well.

Only a little while, my 3 year old helps me sort brass AND reloads into boxes - just have to make a game out of it, and he loves helping dad (and it makes dad pretty happy too).

Hopefully that is clean brass. It is my understanding that there is a decent amount of lead on dirty fired brass and would be hesitant to let a 3 year old handle it. Adults can handle a little lead exposure but it's pretty nasty for the little ones.

the midway bowls are great.. overpriced for what they are but they do a great job.. unless you have tons and tons of mixed brass to sort though its not worth the $40 IMHO... i just sit and sort while watching tv..
sorting brass is mindnumbing and keeps my hands busy... i enjoy it

+1 for the midway bowls. I got mine for a Xmas present one year. I think this is probably the first year I haven't put anything reloading related on my list. Might have to fix that.

I recently got the ones from Dillon and the pick-up tool. Wish I had got them long ago. Not cheap but worth every cent!!
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

Kids really shouldn't be sorting brass due to the exposure to lead in the dust.

I like the colored plastic bowls. Lots of places sell them, so you can shop around for a better price. They are loud, dusty, and you cant just fill them full and shake. It helps to have a set of buckets to go with these bowls. That way you can work in small batches, shake dump, shake dump etc...
