    Powder choices for .308Win Target?

I know most are going with the Varget these days for .308Win target but i was wondering if anybody prefers another? What other powders might I try?

Application is the .308 cal out of a Remington 700P, target plinking to 600 yds. Thanks all!

Reloader 15 with a 175 SMK is what's used in the current M118LR rounds. I've read nothing but good things about that round, It's a tried and true combination.

        IMR 4895, IMR 4198, BL-C(2), my 308 like IMR4064 the best.

My .308 likes 4064 and 155 Sierra SMKs (2156) as well with quite a stiff load in Lapua brass. The load is over book max, but there is no pressure signs in 100 degree weather. Shoots 1/2 MOA regularly if the shooter does not drink any coffee and catches the wind right.

I'm partial to VV N140. I might give Varget a try once I run out. IMR-4895 is the old standby for match ammo, but some don't like the way it meters.

In my 700 308 I use 42.0gr Reloder 15 w/ 168gr Nosler Custom Competitions or 168gr Sierra Match Kings at 2.875" OAL. I shoot out to 1050yds with excellent results. Another load that works very well for me is 178gr Hornady A-Max w/ 41.5gr Reloder 15.

Really, 2.875" or did you mean 2.775?

Seems like I'll give Reloader 15 a try next.

IMR 4064 for me, for both 168 and 175 gr MK bullets.

Varget. Shooting over a chrono in the snow vs. 90+ degree day I saw maybe 15fps difference and it's just as accurate as everything else I've tried.
