ok so as the title states... gunna be buying a Hornady LNL AP...
been watching videos and reading about reloading and this press along with the Dillon XL650 for about a good 2 years.

ill be purchasing it from Cabelas since the price is at $399ish + free shipping coupon.. is there any other place that beats this price??

also personal inputs about this press from people who currently use and own it? what to expect?

I own one. It was my first press. Love it! Runs damn good. Have only had trouble with priming .45acp for some reason. Takes a little tweaking to get it just right. But other then that I love the damn thing. I liked it so much I got it's little brother (LnL single) to do my larger rifles with.

Check Midway. Just seen it for a few bucks less.

Have fun and be prepared to not see the sun till you need more supplies!

Good point above about the free bullets. Make sure you pick out some expensive ones like .308. I believe you also get 100 bullets for each set of dies you buy too.

Grafs.com has it for $416 + $5 shipping. Grafs is a good place to get things you might forget on your big order since they always have $5 shipping.
Midwayusa.com has it for $395 + $31 shipping.
So, it looks like Cabelas is the best deal.

You may want to try both if you can before purchase to see which you prefer; I had the good fortune to try out both before I bought one. Having said that if you like the ergonomics of the LNL you won't be disappointed especially if you get the case feeder.

my friend has a XL650 and i didnt really like how fast the press indexes the cases around... it was so fast that the 223 brass was swinging a bit and i saw some powder escaping. I really like how the LNL AP indexes only 1/2 way per stroke... along with the bushings which makes it super quick status.

ill check out natchezss to see if their prices are good after shipping ... if they charge!

Cabelas unfortunately you're going to be waiting a while I'd guess where I put my order in January 2nd for their press/feeder combination and they hadn't received it by the time I cancelled it end of February. For a week there they had the press only down at $369 and I seriously considered swapping out my purchase with the case feeder for one without and getting the case feeder later. In the end I purchased from Midway which had both items in stock and had just put them on sale at the beginning of this month.

BTW: I really like mine for 40S&W, though priming is a bit funky where sometimes it doesn't seat well and I have to loosen the shellplate. The 110V case feeder also doesn't turn the plate if there are many more than 50 cases in it!

Just looked it up (haven't had everything for a week yet) and found that there are two screws on each feeder plate that can be tightened. I'll see how it goes but after last week need to make some empty cases first.

I'm happy with mine... just make sure you order the shell plates you need and extra bushings. I ordered 10 extra bushing and have used up all but two already.

Save an empty half liter water bottle and drill a hole in the cap to fit the spent primer tube. Keeps the floor clean and easy to empty out as needed.

Oh and don't forget to order a couple cans of the L'n'L dry lube for cleaning the press and powder drop.

Not to get you worried or anything, but I thought it was funny that's about the time they indicated it would come in on their second "delay" email!

It's odd because the Cabelas website indicates $670 for the combination and that's the reason I went with them initially. At the time I would have paid shipping too, something like $25. Because of their sale I paid a little under $730 from Midway after shipping($50!), so I paid around $60 more than after Cabela's shipping was calculated in -- about an 8% premium for having lost faith in them. Seriously: hope things work out better for you than for me.

www.manventureoutpost.com has Hornady stuff cheap, but shipping can sometimes be a b***h, so make sure to include that in calculations.

I've had my LnL AP for over a year now, no probs teaching myself to do pistol on it, and I'm just starting to do .223 and .308 in batch on it...Dillon RT1200 works just fine so far!
