If you want to shoot slugs, I highly recommend "Limb Savers" buttstock recoil pads to tame the kick to your shoulder. What a difference it made in my 870 (from Remington it's called the R3 recoil pad). You're still gonna get slapped hard in the cheek though, unless you also use a cheek pad.
