Cabela's is a great place but they are in retail - gotta watch the prices but when stuff is on sale and they have free or reduced shipping - then it can be a good/great deal. I wish they'd open one in Commiefornia - they are probably scared to.

They are going to open up new locations in Springfield, OR and Allen, TX, to name a few.

I'm glad they haven't opened up in california yet, otherwise they would be charging sales tax.

At least there are a few companies that actually understand what handgun ammo is vs. rifle ammo.

Screw the ammo companies. If you reload, like Chief and I do, you don't have to worry about that, now, do ya? :-)

Instead of buying ammo, we should be buying presses (if we don't have 'em already) and reloading components. February 2011 is all to close now.

Exactly why I picked up a BL 550 earlier this year and then dressed it out to be an RL 550B.
Now I have two.

Whoever did that is a grade A putz for sure that apparently doesn't know themselves the pointy end goes downrange for rifle rounds, not so pointy for handgun. That said somebody making a financial decision on an obvious advertisement emailed to them over the Internet is not all that bright. I wonder if Cabelas upper management is ok that they are being grouped in with Nigerian scammers because of this email?

As has been said above just get yourself a reloading set-up then there's no problem.

Does this law only apply to handgun ammo? Does it also apply to center-fire rifle like .308 and .223??

Possibly. A Thompson Contender can be i almost any caliber and I think it is still a handgun. I think no ammo is safe. I reload. No problem!
