If you want powder, you better get there at 3am....I heard a guy got there at 11pm the night before and slept in his car.

Maybe next time you could ask him publicly about his apparent illiteracy so other people in the store could give him some sympathy too. He might appreciate it.

Since this thread was resurrected anyway, and zombie shows are so popular, I'll do my part to keep it alive.

My post regarding the reading was a tongue-in-cheek remark regarding some people needing a sign to know they should ask before they open a cabinet at a business. When you're in an exam room at your doctor's or a hospital do you need a sign on the cabinets warning you to "please ask for assistance".

Frankly, I'm not sure I've ever been in a store where customers were welcome to open closed cabinet doors to serve themselves other than the refrigerated section in the grocery store.

My comment stemmed from my observation that the OP seemed to expect a sign to inform him what most people have already figured out. And I was, perhaps poorly, trying to be witty by sarcastically suggesting that the only reason a sign wasn't there was because they weren't able to write one -- because (again, sarcasm) closed cabinets obviously need warning signs (they don't) if the public isn't welcome to open them.

Then again, I admit I was not there, I did not see, and I did not hear. And I am surely an insensitive person who lacks the empathy to appreciate the damage caused by hurt feelings. So, four years later, I'm sorry for my lack of caring and understanding.

Finally, I'll be serious for a moment: I can understand the OP being pissed off for being talked to that way. Seriously. I suppose I would feel chagrined as well. But I also appreciate the owner probably thinking "WTF are you thinking dude? Get out of my F-ing cabinet!" So maybe the owner showed some restraint, at least from his perspective. This led, and still leads me to think, that while I might have shared the OP's reaction had I been in his shoes, I don't think it was fair to publicly trash this business because he got caught with his hand where it should not have been and was scolded.

That's my opinion, and I may very well have it all wrong.

I wouldn't have left right away.

I would have filled the counter with thousands of dollars worth of stuff and when he went to check me out I would have told him that this is the stuff that I was going to but until he yelled like a B**** so I'm changed my mind.

        Then I would have left.

FOUR YEARS AGO - Rick did not have the powder behind the counter. Perhaps he does now, I don't know, I don't shop there.

If you have had a good or positive experience with him I'm glad. I did not.
Apologies. I have not shopped there prior to the powder being behind the counter. None the less why if someone has a less than perfect "the customer is always right" event at a local business feel the need to trash and purposely attempt to damage the creditability of a business by posting a ***** on the internet. One that never seems to die. Yep one bad customer moment and it plagues the internet for ever.

Seems to me Phillips has hundreds of satisfied customers and his prices are the best around to boot. The OP is surely missing out if he has had his feathers so ruffled he will not go back.

I went there just yesterday and stood in line with 30 or more happy well served customers. I needed some parts for a Mec press and a couple things for friends. No I did not grab 10 lbs of powder but he had powder.

I was there a couple weeks ago. Mainly just to check the place out and see what he had. He didn't have the powder I wanted, but I knew that beforehand by checking his on-line inventory list. His prices on supplies, accessories, etc. seemed good. I didn't leave empty handed. I bought 2 bags of recycled shot to use with my Lead Sled.

You know how it is though, facebook folks get butthurt and then go to a place crying to the world in hopes of gaining an audience and a shoulder to cry on. This was just the wrong place for that. This has happened several times and ya know, the guy behind the counter was not the nicest butt kissing please buy something guy, but he was professional and answered any questions that I had and my friend and I snooped around through the old rounds in the back and asked a few questions here and there. The store DOES invite curiosity though by having so many drawers to open and close that all have hidden goody bags of brass in them... Since I do not know what kind of guy OP is then I do not know what the difference is between their story and the truth. I know we all tend to put our own spin on things especially since we see things through our eyes and not a neutral glass. So OP could have been quite possibly just mad they got their figurative hand slapped and came here to vent about it...
