Rolf isn't much of a people person, but he's really not a bad guy.

Best thing to do with him is to walk in the door, shout out "Hey Rolf, how's it going?" He figures you know him and lightens up a bit.

    I love that store, BTW.

It's true the guys aren't ever when you walk in. They're definetly no BS dudes, but i've never been treated rudely there. They have a good inventory, and the guys there know what they're doing and will help you out. they just don't seem to wanna crack jokes all the time while they do it.

Agreed. You guys are way too thinned skinned.

Not overly friendly, but never been rude either. I've heard him explaining to noobs with tons of questions that they have reloading classes there as well some of the fundamentals right there on the spot. I'm sure he gets tons of people that come in and know nothing and think that a 5 minute conversation can teach them everything they need to know.

Just don't expect him to be tripping over himself. Ask what you need and he will give you a straight answer.

They won't be your best freiends but they'll hand you a list and tell you what you need if you ask. I've seen them help out 2 separate newbies. Not sure if we're talking about the same guy, but this guy and longish hair.

Prices are reasonable for a local storefront. If you buy more than a thousand primers and a pound or two of powder, you might as well order online. Great place to go if all you need is one item immediately.

My conversations at ANY gun store (except RCGE) is usually.
Me: Can you grab x for me.
                  Them: Sure.

Pay, leave. My opinion is dont try to talk to them, you won't even like how they respond anyway.

One time at this one store...Guns Fishing and other Stuff in Vacaville,

I was asking him for Unique. I got the powder, making sure the seal was in place, and it comes off with the cap. I ask him, "Hey, this wasn't open right?"

He looks and says "Oh GOD, it is NOW. That's YOURS. "

I turn, stunned, and I say "Yes, I KNOW its mine, I am obviously trying to purchase it, just wanted to know if someone tampered with it."

He goes "The seal always comes off with the cap! You're not supposed to open it like that!"

                  Me: "I know that...nevermind."

retardddeeeddd (last time i bought unique seal stayed right in place...so what the hell is he talking about, no need to yell about it)

                  Now its
                  I need powder, bye.

I would warn that Phillips is not open all days of the week. Something like thur, fri, sat I don't remember exactly but call for the hours.
Phillips is mostly oriented toward shotgun reloading. He has an amazing supply of pistol/rifle bullets and a huge supply of extinct bullets at good prices with some bargins for sure. My wife works nearby and I stop in as often as I can. Very helpful guy and nice as can be he just wants your business.

Phillups Wholesale - Rick is Knowledgeable, helpful, has good prices and is great to deal with. Open Thr, Fri, & Sat. Call before you make the drive as he is a one man operation and if something comes up - the store may be closed.

Yea Corky (don't want to say his real name) isn't exactly Mr. Rogers but i don't expect him to be (old grunt & all) I pretty much know what in want and if i have a question i usually get an answer He's very knowlegable though. Remember guys we're not walking in to Macy's or Ambercrumy fish in the mall, we're going to a RELOADING STORE where real with real men hobbies go to, so dont expect smiling faces showing you around.
