Do you have a case feeder? I can reload 100 cases in less than 10 minutes runing the case feeder and powder check die...but thats assuming prepped cases, full primmer feed system and no hiccups....

For $60 I can make 100 rounds, 5X as much. Its amazing how much you can save with reloading or you could also say its amazing home much more you can shoot for the same cost of factory .
yeah but how long did it takeyouto do it?

        whats your time worth?

I to reload, but it takes an azz load to make it pay for itself...

To some, reloading is a chore. To others, it's a hobby. I'm of the latter. I don't care how long it takes to reload, or what my time is worth. I find it enjoyable and satisfying, regardless of ROI.

Now that I reload, I stop shooting because I'm tired of shooting. Before, my wallet stopped my shooting session.

people who reload don't save any money, they just shoot more.

I had been paying an average of about $45 a hundred for ammo for my .38 Spl. Bought a Lee Challenger Breechlock kit and some other stuff; came to about $300. It costs me just about an even $15 a hundred to reload, so I'm saving $30 a hundred. That means that the gear paid for itself in about a thousand rounds. Guess I should shoot more so I can deposit all that money I'm saving in the bank. I'll be rich!

This is me too. Reloading is a hobby that I love doing. Its fun for me and even if the cost was the same for reloading and factory ammo I would still reload because its fun.

I loaded 300 rounds of .223 while watching "WWII in HD" last night.
                    Perfect evening.

So what's the cost to reload 1000 rounds of .223? I've been slowly looking into reloading and I'm trying to figure out how much you save per 1000 rounds.

It all depends on your components. If you're buying new brass, 1lb jugs of powder, benchrest primers, and premium bullets in small packages (50-100), you'll spend probably double (or more) than if you use once-fired brass, wolf primers, bulk (8lb jugs) powder, and bulk bullets.

It really comes down to how much you spend on components.

                          Check out this calculator.

Go to MidwayUSA to see average prices for components.

Nope, just priming and the rest. I don't have a fancy progressive or anything.

I priced it out a few months back and came up with something like $180-$200 depending on bullets and powder and thats for brass ammo
