    Loading for someone else!

Can you get in trouble ( technically ) for loading ammo for other than yourself if you are using the other persons provided components.
Is it illegal? Are you still considered as providing ammunition without a
    " license"?

Technically everything you mentioned is illegal either federally or state.

The thing is if you were to go shoot with me and I let you shoot one of my firearms, there is a 100% chance the ammo is my reloads unless its a 22LR

          Yes.

Who does the actual loading is what matters.
It does not matter who purchased the components.

Your "friend" can bring his brass and components over to your house and use your tools to reload his brass and your friend will be loading his own ammunition.

I shot my supervisors reloads, once. First round was almost a squib, the second was likely double charged. If I had been shooting my Model 29 and not my Super Blackhawk, I might have had .44 Mag bits going everywhere. Lesson learned.

I never let anyone shoot my reloads. Too much liability.

Do you have anything to lose? Even he using your equipment and got blowup, he still can sue you.

I asked ATF about this several years ago. Bottom line: don't do it.

I still have the note with my question and their reply. If you want a copy, send me a PM.

manufacturing firearms is not the same as loading up some ammo. ATF is not going to say anything about someone using their friend's press to load up their own, not for sale, ammo.

On average they were just right. What's the beef?

I have never seen them saying ANYTHING like that about ammo.
Ammo is not serialized and tracked like firearms so the rules are much more relaxed.

I haven’t either. Self built guns are not serialized nor tracked at the federal level either.
But with they way they create law it’s not hard to take the letter we all seen during the build parties and the crap that ares armory pulled with renting then leasing machines. The ATF drew the conclusion that one person had to own the property and the tools used for their firearm to be self built.
If they were that adamant about self built guns they sure as hell would try to make an example out of someone making ammo. The other thing is all we need in Bonta getting a hair up his but and start going after Ammunition precursor components. We do not need to give the state a reason to screw with us.

Keep in mind I treat this like a gay marriage. If you don’t like it don’t engage in one. Again treat it like fight club.
