Primers, any maybe even small rifle and definitely magnums ok with downloaded powder.

I've only used Bullseye and Unique, I use Bull on everything almost and readily available. That's the only reason I use it.

Look at all these people getting into 9mm reloading, like there's a shortage or something...

I reload 124 grain cast and powder coated in my 9mm. Great succes with AA#5, Unique and WW231, in that order. That is with pistol and carbine.

My favorite powder for 9mm is Power Pistol. It flashes a lot, which I like but some do not. It meters well for me as well. You can really drive up the load if you want.

I also use 231/H38, which is a great all around pistol powder. I use it for 9mm, 40sw and 38/357M.

I got 1lb of Bullseye in trade a few years back and just loaded 500 9mm with that and it ran well and went a long way as the charge weight was lower compared to other powders. It metered great but burned very dirty for me.

I have been using Acme Bullets https://www.acmebullet.com/. Good prices and they shoot well for me.

I use range brass and don't sort headstamps. I keep my loads on the lighter side because I have found some headstamps to have smaller case volumes.

As everyone has said use whatever primers you can source.

I have loaded about 5K 9mm on my Lee turret press over the last few years, great way to get started.

                  CFE Pistol or Power Pistol.

Primers, small pistol or small magnum pistol. CCI and Federal seem to be the most available, when available.

I am new to reloading and recently started with 9mm. It was recommended to me to look at VIHTAVUORI powders N320 or N330. I looked at them and a few others and chose to go with N330, which I was able to find with a little diligence.

                    Here are the manufacturer's specs:

N330 handgun powder provides a wide range of latitude for the handgun shooter, serving well for everything from light target to heavier

It is more expensive than many others but it meters well in my progressive press and I do not have to worry about double charging it since one load fills about 2/3 of a case to begin with. Mostly, I like it because it is clean burning. I cleaned my VP9 last week after 3 range trips to test some ladder rounds and subsequent rounds totaling about 250 and I was amazed how little internal fouling there was compared with factory ammo.

I have been fortunate to find some CCI-500 primers. As said above, during this market, you may have to buy whatever brand you find.

Good luck with the 9mm OP.

I use 231 because it burns clean from a 1990 perspective. There might be much better powders now. I use jacketed bullets only because lead is too smoky. If I shoot my friends subgun with lead bullets I have to duck after every burst to let the smoke cloud go by. If I wait for sales I can sometime get jacketed fairly cheap. Last batch was a few months ago at about 6 cents each for 124 gr.

I used to just load 115's but now that I have access to a silencer I'm going to load 124's at 1000-ish. That's a little underpowered but not by much and they'll be subsonic. 147's are way too expensive so I'm going to try these 124's to see how they work out. They should be real close to 125 power factor so if I end up shooting any IPSC that cares about PF I might have to pump it up a little. It would be nice to use the same load for farting around and for competition. Ideally I could find 130's or 135's for cheap, but that's unlikely to happen.

I second VV N320 with 147grn Blue bullet for my competition loads. Can't be picky on primers right now.

5.0 grains of W231 and 115 grain Berry's plated. Accurate, dependable load, been loading this for years.

Realistically unless your budget is tight, buy ANY primers you encounter with a good price. You can probably trade them for small pistol later. So if you come across a sale on large rifle for 6 cents each, grab 'em.
