The component cost for 9mm now

    Primer: $0.20
    Bullet: $0.15
    Powder: $0.05
    Brass: $0.1 (or free)

Total: $0.4 to $0.5 per round. About 50% cheaper than the 9mm ammo.

At $0.4 per round savings, an XL 750 package costing $1500, we will break even at $1500/0.4 = 3,750 rounds.

    Pretty good.

    Before the pandemic,

    Primer: $0.03
    Bullet: $0.10
    Powder: $0.05
    Brass: Free

Total $0.18. The commercial ammo is $0.2 per round. The break event point is $1500/0.02 = 75,000 rounds.

I said primer 10 cents you said 20 cents. Since when are spps going for 200 per k. Is that what you are paying? I just bought 2k for 50 per k.

              9mm pre-covid..

              $.032 - Primers
Free - Brass (if you pick it up at the range, otherwise $.025 ea)
              $.0125 - Powder.. 4 gr Titegroup at $22/lb
Bullets range from $.02 ea for cast up to $.20 ea for things like Hornady XTP

Cost range anywhere from $4.48 up to $13.50 ish for premium bullets. This is the cost per 50 ea utilizing Titegroup. If using N320 that cost per round for powder goes to $.022/ea = $1.09 for 50 ($38/# locally). Was calcing titegroup at $.63/50 (locally available for $22/lb).

              Common prices now..

I've seen Primers as low as $45/1000 to as high at $200/1000
Powder and Brass are basically same price locally
Bullet only up slightly but have seen Precision Delta for $.095 each for HP, $.09 ea for FMJ both in 124 weight. Bear creeks are $.062 for 124, $.066 for 135's or 147's.

Local for me is Bay Area, Norcal.

                Per thousand

                $100 per 1,000 primers
                $100 per 1,000 bullets
                $12.50 per 1,000 powder
                $70.00 per 1,000 brass

                100+100+12.50+70=282.50 per thousand or $0.28 a round

                  April 2020:
                  16lbs HP38 $327.64 delivered (thirdgen reloading).

                  June 2020:
20k RMR bullets (115gr FMJ): $1602 delivered (I had to pay taxes, same state)
20k CCI SPP $508 ($25.40/k after tax, sportsmans, pickup)

                  At 4.7gr, Im:
                  Bullet: $0.0801
                  Powder: $0.01375
                  Primer: $0.0254
~$0.12 per round... and a lot of cranking (I do have a bullet feeder though).

It really wasn't worth it to reload for 9mm pre covid using my single stage press but I enjoy reloading. I shop at a local reloading shop and haven't seen any price increase in components other than $7.00 per 1k for primers.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do.

                      Before the pandemic,

                      Primer: $0.03
Bullet: $0.08- Plated (if you shoot lead from Brazos then only 0.05)
                      Powder: $0.02
                      Brass: Free

cost me reload 0.13/rds, bought new 0.18-0.20/rd. Still have couple K ammo before need to reload again, I am OK for the next 6 months.

                        Pre-pandemic, I had that beat:

At least I have some pre-covid primers

Just 1000 for reloading 9mm. Better than nothing. Guess I'll just wait until reloading components stop social distancing from "back to normal" prices. Anyone have any guess as to how long this is going to last?!?!?

I've got about 25K 9mm loaded and a 5 gallon pail of brass ready to go. Have some primers but am out of bullets. Think I really don't need to load anymore as I haven't shot much since covid

Usually takes a few years to recover back to those cheap prices. Maybe late 2022 if theres no push for ammo regs, or no mass shooting incident, or no government mass buy of billions of rounds (including war).

When ammo becomes plentiful, you will start to see components. When those components sit for a while, they will become cheap. We need a long quiet time for that to happen.
