Man doesn't anyone like RCBS? I am an amatuer. I got the RCBS 2000 progressive. Did some 45 ACP reloading on a friend's Rock Chucker a few years ago and liked it so I went with RCBS again about a year ago when I decided to get my own rig. So far I have only done 45 ACP but it seems to work good for me. I spot check the powder throws a lot and they always seem to be right on. I also got the powder checker in one of the stations. As soon as I finish my current supply of .308 & .223 surplus I am going to start reloading those too. I also got the optional tube primer loader instead of that one it came with. Any opinion on the 2000? I can take it.

RCBS makes nice solid equipment, I can't bag on them at all.

go with a Dillon 650. I started with a RCBS single stage, went w/ a Dillon 550 then graduated to a 650. Save your money and go for the best one around.

O' I love my 650 but I've been thinking of buying a 550 to sit beside it on the bench.

No history on the RCBS progressive, saw one at a san jose gun stor and after running the Dillon for so long had to take a look at it. It has similar features only in different places. I would say it is a quality press with all the right stuff. I would never trade my dillon for one but if I had bought that first I may be singing its praises.

One reason I keep coming back to buying Dillon accessories is that they have this no BS policy. I've had de-capper pins break on me, powder measure parts wear out and all I had to do was call Dillon and they would send a replacement part for free.

I stepped on a primer loading tube and bent the aluminum tube and broke the plastic tip off. I called Dillon and told them what I did and they still sent me a free one.

From the few stories I have heard RCBS is the same way about sending out replacement parts no questions asked. I thought I remember the reason I didn't buy the Dillon was that it was a lot more expensive than the RCBS but looking at them now they are within about $40 of each other. The auto indexing and a case feeder would be kind of cool. I don't shoot a ton though. I do like the die plates on the RCBS so you can switch dies without having to reset them. Does the Dillon have that? That would be cool if they came up with a bullet feed for the Dillion and you could just keep pulling the handle without doing anything and be kicking out ammo. Sometimes I wish I would have gotten a regular press because I think it is fun to reload and I make ammo so fast with the progressive I am finished before I am done having fun. Maybe when I have to start loading my .223 and .308 I will have enough to keep me going.

Dillon does make a case feeder for the 550 and the 650 I believe. I sent them a powder drop that was out of spec and they sent me a new one before they got back the old one .

Here's an aftermarket bullet feeder for the 650. It would be a nice addition to any 650 setup if it wasn't so pricey.

And yes...the 550 and 650 have removable tool heads where you can just swap different calibers instead of removing the dies and adjusting.

A bullet feeder, , my word man, you could load about 1500/hr or more with that!!!!!!! I'm not thinking that the wife will put that under the tree this year, how much???

Damn that would be sweet to have a 650 with the case feeder and bullet feeder. Now all we need to do is get something to pull the handle for us so we can eat a turkey sandwich while we watch our ammo being made.

Here's my meager setup. It's good for the small amount that I reload.
I just got the tumbler set up today.

I started with an RSBS Jr. Graduated to a RCBS Rockchuker, and now use a Hornady LNL Progressive for everything. Works well with all dies except Lee. Lee dies are just a little too short to properly work in a Hornady press using LNL Bushings.

I thought Lee was supposed to be making their new dies longer. I know what you mean about their old dies though, I had to lock them on the bottom until I got new ones.
