I hear all you guys. The only thing I was a bit short on, was spp's. Went to Philipp's today and fixed that. Ready as can be for what ever crap comes down the road now. Bench work tomorrow. Everything.

I'm in San Diego if anyone needs something. I started reloading in 2008 and remember a kind member helping me out when I first got the bug.

I recall before Obama got elected, going to the gun show on Sunday afternoon an hour before closing, and being able to get any powder, primer, bullet you needed. Felt like America - land of the free and home of the brave. Then a slogan about change - yes it sure did happen.

And .22lr in bulk packs of 500 for $12 a pack!

If you run out of components NOW, remember history, and don't let history repeat itself...
Prepare for the lean-times.

When components are avail. again everywhere, stack deep, and cheap before the next round.

It looks like what has happened in the past with ammo supplies is repeating. It's crazy with availability and especially the INCREASE in pricing!!!! LGS are low in inventory, let alone the waiting in line thing too.

Can't find SPP anywhere at any shops or online. Powders are flying off the shelves as soon as they restock and some ammo needs to be ordered with an unknown waiting period. I never thought I would be scrambling or searching for something that I overlooked in the past...(those small pistol primers are no where to be found)

I am thankful for what I have now and appreciate the Calguns community during times like this.

Now, for most reloaders, who use a single stage press and loads maybe 100 rd at a time, it's minor inconvenience.

For those on progressive presses and make a couple thousand per session, it's a bit more.

And those of us, who have seen several of these feast/famine cycles, we have been conditioned to buy right after the famine, during the feast, after a republican president/congress gets elected, to be supplied during the next famine/Democrat President.

I was going thru .223 components I found 1k copper 55 gr .223 and some hp and I think i have 500 55 gr jsps around. Looks like I have about 500 cases as well. Maybe 2.5 k srp's.

yup. you got about a week or 2 before things go.
I have always tried to keep a healthy supply of everything but when you start looking sometimes it takes months before things come back in stock at normal prices and order quantities. Yes some places have primers but limit you to 1000 which isnt even an hour or reloading.

I figure I'm set for life, especially if there's a zombie apocalypse. A while back was selling Hornady's ZMAX (VMAX with a fluorescent green top) projos for a decent price and I stocked up assuming I'd be shooting squirrels instead of having to hunt for them. Now I need me some zombies squirrels to use up all those bullets.

I also tend buy stuff from listings on the Marketplace forum when the price is right.

SoCal is a bit too far for me to drive, I'm in Santa Clara county. Well I'm not in any rush to buy primers, I still have enough. I was just perusing powder valley and other online sites and at least for small rifle primers they've been run dry -- I guess everyone is stocking up on their 1k rounds of 223 for the apocalypse.

When I was in Reeds a couple weeks ago it looked like they had a fairly good supply of primers and powders. I plan on picking some up when my rifle clears background

Thx I haven't been to Reeds in a while. Good to hear they're open to sell stuff , is their range open too?

Was in Sportsman Reno store this morning. Now a limit on reloading stuff.
1,000 primers per day, 1 bottle of powder per day, no limit on bullets. Shelf was pretty wiped out. Also only 4 boxes of ammo per caliber per day. No limit on shotgun ammo. Only to rifles per day.

I still can't find SPP anywhere. I used to get so frustrated when they started to put limits on buying, until I was the next person behind someone who wanted to buy all of the same ammo I was waiting for. During these times, I saw how important it is to try and spread the wealth / share supplies. I am learning a lot during these times.
