    9mm Powder for New Reloader

Going to start into reloading for 9mm M&P Pistol/Ruger Carbine with a RCBS RS and Dillon RL550C. What would be the best powder to start out with that shoots clean, meters well, is economical, etc?

I’m sure there is a lot of great options for 9mm, but I was recommended N320 when I started reloading. I haven’t tried anything else, as I’ve been happy with it - meters within 0.1g consistently, clean burning and readily available. Also works well for .40S&W.

My standard is HS-6 for 9mm, but also in the powder locker for 9mm is W231, CFE, AutoComp, BE-86, Power Pistol and Bullseye. You made a fine choice in CFE. Congratz.

Add Titegroup to your list. CFE will do a good job for you.

New reloaders should stay away from Titegroup, since there is a very narrow range between good and over pressure.

W231/HP38 is a good starter powder for 9x19mm.

Economically, Titegroup and Hi-Scor 700X are the cheapest per load for 9x19, but you need to be really careful not to overcharge.

Just started reloading the 9X19 myself. I have lots of a bullseye, WW231 and Unique on hand. But in doing web searches for pet loads, favorite loads and accuracy loads, the #1 powder mentioned in search results was Power Pistol.

One powder I want to try in loading the 9mm Luger is Blue Dot in my Ruger PC Carbine. It seems to deliver top velocity in a longer barrel.
