And this is why reloading is not for everyone.Thank you to all that responded with suggestions. Reloading manuals are good, and do provide minimum and maximum load values. But only through time and experimentation within the parameters of the manuals do you get the best workable loads. I'm not trying to reinvent the wheel, so asking advise from those who have spent the time has always been advantageous. There is a lot of good information out there if you just ask.
Someone is trying to be lazy and you guys want to justify the practice. Good luck with that crapComment

You seem to think that you need to work up loads for each and every gun you own in the same caliber.
For most people, a Good load is just fine.
If you want to chase the Unicorn, by all means, go for it. I do that myself.
But to say you can't use someone else's load data safely and with common accuracy is just wrong.
Nothing wrong with suggesting a certain bullet and powder combination.
OP, just start low and work up.Last edited by nedro; 03-06-2018, 8:21 AM.Comment

Just saw this thread, and I'm new to reloading. I picked up some TiteGroup, and Berry's 200 grn plated FP. Anyone use this combination? If so, what is the best load you've found?OLD iTrader Rating: iTrader Rating Here (click)

I've not heard of anyone who like Barry's bullets.
But I live a sheltered life, so who knows.
My comment just above yours was about giving a bullet/powder combo.
If you already have the combo, just look up the load data at Berry's web site or the powder web site. Or look at one of your reloading manuals. Them make up a good ladder and see.
In this case I would agree with kcstott. Work up a load and check it out.Comment

200 gn H&G 68 profile Semi Wadcutters, with Winchester WST (I can't recall exact weight, but around 4.7 ... do the research of course!) Shoots well for me in 1911s. But semi-wadcutters don't work well in my Glock.==================

Remember to dial 1 before 911.
Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

4.6 to 4.8 of Titegroup behind Xtreme 200 gr plated rn work fine for me. 4.6 might ba a tad light for some guns.My God, even the Conservatives are liberal in the messed up StateComment

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.
