Upside Down Primer

My XL650 does not like Remington 9 1/2 LRPs as they are too tall with the anvil sometimes catching on the shellplate which can cause jams, flipped primers and a whole lot of frustration.

I didn't read all of the replies so this may have been covered: oil, water, WD40, etc won't always render a primer inert. I've played with several primers and none of the ones I played with were killed with water or oil. Reading about it revealed that different ones are sensitive to different things. Regardless, a primer is extremely unlikely to go off by pressing it out, it generally needs a sharp hit to go off. If you're worried; put on your eyes & ears, make sure you don't have powder or flammables near it, and press away.

I've pressed out lots of live primers that were upside down and right side up and none have gone off. I've re-used several just to test and they seemed unaffected by the removal/reuse process.
