Case trimmer recommendations

I use the worlds finest trimmer by little crow works and it works great. I get consistent and very fast trimming done. I normally process about 500 .223 brass at a time every few weeks. I just attach it to my drill and it does not take up any bench space.

I have to second the RCBS powered trimmer,,, with the three-way cutter... Easy to use and consistent.. You also just need to change internal pilots on the three-way trimmer to change calibers... My hands just could not take the hand trimmer with volume trimming...

I've got a laymen. It's eh.. not bad not great.

The pilots never stay in. But it's pretty fast with the drill attachment.

Ya...if only doing one caliber in volume. Add a $100 drill press from Hazard Fraught...then you have a drill press for other stuff.

I use a Lee quick trim with manual crank.

So far, over about 500 cases, I find it pretty accurate. I do have to clean out the blades occasionally though. Its cheap, it works.

I'd not use it to process 1000 at a time, but processing 50 to 100 ata time, I find it suitable.

And, if you don't like it, you aren't out much money.

Manual options work well for small volume. I stepped up to a WFT with interchangeable bushings. Trim 1 peices of brass to spec label it and save it for repeats.

Seriously thinking of going Giraud though. Gold standard of trimmers.

I already have a Lyman case prep center and tried to use the Lee quick trim. But I couldn't get the Lee to repeat at all. Sometimes .020" difference from case to case...

The RCBS power model looks like a good choice.

I f'd up and bought the RCBS Case Prep center and I literally HATE the trimmer. Ended up purchasing a couple of Worlds Finest Trimmers (.223 and 300blk) and the process is about ten times faster and less effort. I do in fact have a drill press that I chuck them up into but they would work just as well with a hand drill.

Giraud trimmer is $$$$ but once you use it, you'll quickly realize that it's worth every penny. It is consistent, easy and also chamfers and deburs all in the same step. She's a huge time saver but when you pay for her, you will definitely cry once.

You pay for quality and piece of mind knowing that the settings are repeatable.

I have one and trim four different cartridges so it's been good. If you only have to trim 223, for example, then Giraud's Tri-way trimmer may fit your bill.

I'm looking to buy something that's quality and will consistently cut brass to a specified length.

If you are wanting to process large amounts of brass, go with a Girard.

Oh I've seen them and man Made me think I need an annealer too.

Currently I only load for 6.5 CM and .308. Roughly about 500-600 rounds a month depending on how often I can get to the range.

I've got a small bench drill press I was thinking of going this route too. I wasn't sure yet on what I could use for a shell holder or do you just hold them by hand?
