    Cali Ammo

Im here to ask a question, and see if info i was given was fud.

Is it true that in California you can only have 1000 rounds of any particular caliber of ammo?

I was told this by someone that usually has good info, but I cant find any regulations on this.

any guidance on regulations or laws relating to this would be great.

I think many would laugh at 1000 round limit

there is a limit on black powder that you can have (5lbs I think), not aware of a smokeless powder limit. And I do remember reading about a primer limit once but not sure what it was.

Never heard of a round limit, but remember, if you get into any legal trouble at and have more then 2 rounds in Calif, you have a arsenal.

          Cali Ammo Limits

When does the current legislative session end? Won't be able to answer until then.

But we keep giving them ideas here, don't we??

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Fire code is the real issue. But it's still not a true limit, just things you have to change as you store powder and primers.
At any given time I have between 5-8k rounds of loaded ammo, 30-40 pounds of powder, and 5-10k primers
The variation is due to shooting competition. I use over 1000 projectiles and 16 pounds of powder in a year for one rifle.

I agreed to divide my ammo, powder, and primer stash among my fifty closest friends so I wouldn't get into trouble.

                      NOT!

If I can't come here for real info, then where to go. Ammo hoarders anonymous. We sure can't get good info from gun shops. I guess stilly has all the answers.

If you don't have at least 1,000 rds per weapon, then you better order some more! 🤠

I just tossed out six 55 gallon drums of empty shotgun shell hulls and have over 80,000 rounds of 22 ammo so I hope there isn't a limit.

112 grains per round for 1000. Now that's a boomer.
