As if they're little tactical nukes, stacked up in "Assault Clips" ready to be "sprayfired" "from the hip" by pistol grip equipped "bullet hoses" instead of early variations of the softpoint bullets people have been using to take game with (and use for self-defense) for the last century.

They were recommended to me by Dillon so I went with them.

When I was talking to the guys at dillon the recommended not using a separate crimp die, and just using the seating roll crimp, and making it a deep roll, with the RCBS dies.
I imagine it would be tough getting the seating and crimping die setup on a progressive. I loaded about 200 rnds of 500 on a 550 and decided it would be better to do on a forester coax. I charge the cases with an rcbs charge master. Let us know how that 650 turns them out

I should say I am not using the powder die/charge system of the 650 for the 500 mag.

I am running through the decappers die, then the primer feed, then pop each case off and fill them with exactly the same powder (using my gravity powder scale).

Then i will sit the case back and run it through the flare/size die, then pop the bullet on and run it through the seat/crimp die. seems pretty straight forward to first set the seat depth to the cannelure, back the seating tube out, loosen then crimp die, get the right crimp, tighten the die, then put the seat tube back down and tighten.

Works well for my cannelured 308 that i put a decently heavy crimp on for my AR10.

Sounds like you have a plan and a process. If you get to shoot any of them indoors, the fire ball is impressive

Talk to Ranger Rick in Kodiak Alaska. He'll set you up with some 700 grain monsters. They just barely clear the gap when the cylinder rotates.

One of my favorite rounds to reload, if you want a good selection of different types of heads try Matts bullets. I think the lead is a little soft and leads the barrel but great selections and lots of fun.

Ranger Rick retired and sold the molds to matts bullets

Dayum. I guess we all get to retire at some point. Thanks for the heads up.

Even with his lead being a little soft, 38 cents a round for gas checked lead 440g is a pretty great price!

I described one of my hotter loads for my 454 as holding an earthquake in my hand. Don't know how I would describe what you're attempting.

The weight of the X Frame helps a lot though. I am not shooting a snub nose 500 heh. I am shooting an 8 3/8" version

I think most 454 hanguns are in the 45-55oz range for weight. The big smith is 70oz

So it helps dampen a bit, but definitively not all lol

haha same here bud that .44 240gr 1700 is just the amount for me personally. Of course theres always going to be a crowd of burly dudes with hands as big as hicock45 that can handle the 500

at these speeds it wont lead if you choose to not use a gas check. The PC is good enough
