Do you REALLY want to shoot Miwalls in your guns?

This is what Miwalls will do to a JP CTR-02...

The bolt is the new Leitner-Wise one.

The carrier is JP's ultralight AL.

Why were you shooting crappy reloads in that rifle anyway? That's like using regular unleaded in a racecar.

Do you mean the Low Mass stainless carrier or is that thing actually aluminum?

Man you guys sure tear the Miwall guys up. Can't comment on what happened to you, my experience has been good with the admittedly small number of rounds I purchased from the them at the Reno Gun Show in November. 76 out of 100 .38S&W rounds have fired just fine with good accuracy and no perceptible high or low charges. I've got 14 more in the box and no fear of pulling the trigger on them.

If you are *really* concerned, weigh them one by one and watch for a large variance in weight. Set the high and low apart from the rest. Pull the bullets on the heaviest and the lightest rounds and check the charge, bullet and case weights. This will tell you if there is anything to worry about.

They have two different carriers, the low mass stainless one and the ultralight aluminum one and this was the AL one.

Yeah, I normally shoot better ammo in it, but I had a few Miwalls left that I was finishing off, but even crappy reloads shouldn't blow up a rifle

Ok, so this was your rifle? Ouch. How are things looking on a fix?

That looks more like a problem with a defective carrier than with bad loads.

Maybe that's why I couldn't find it on their site... Seeing where it sheared, that area looks awfully thin to be made out of aluminum and be expected to hold up.

hmm maybe donate some rounds to a reloader so he can open them up n see how much charge is in it and how far the bullet is seated.

What makes you think it is the ammo that did that?

IMO this is a perfect example of how reinventing the wheel and creating solutions for problems that don't exist is not beneficial.

Honestly, I doubt that would have happened if you had a plain $50 carrier in there.

I've shoot MiWall for years (+20 plus) in lots of different calibers, they are one of a few licenses reloaders I trust. You see a lot of guys selling reloads and outside of MiWall, Ammo Bros, HSM, and Talon are the only ones I trust. MiWall usually being the lowest price of all.

note and this could be the case: Most if not all of these reloaders have contracts with LE ranges for their brass, which usually means shot once, unfortunately, some of these ranges are part time public and some overused brass (reloaded 6-8 time) could have gotten in the mix

Yep. That's my take as well.
