Wrong Primers

Hi All,

I'm new to reloading and just recently placed my first reloading order for components.

I received the following primers instead of the large rifle ones that I had ordered. Given that I can't return them to the vendor, where's the best place to sell them and for how much?

What are you reloading? Most large rifle loads can use the magnum primers. Otherwise you can list them for sale here.

I'm planning on loading Winchester 308 and 30-06.

Magnum primers have a good use for fart loads I find when you start loading a low enough charge to the point it starts getting super folded up, a magnum primer helps the same charge burn cleaner

Use the magnum primers. Just start your load development with them and work up slowly.

The CCI military primers were thought to be large rifle magnum primers with harder cups even thought it said, "large rifle"

I say use them and work up your loads.

I'd suggest using the primers as suggested and work your way up slowly. If you really want to use the large rifle primers, then sell these and buy the other ones.

From what I'm seeing in the picture you were sent primers that are pretty hard to find currently. They're known as Federal 215M primers. I'd suggest checking on http://www.gunbroker.com to see what the current selling prices are or ask around and find out what people are willing to pay.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ O/P, as you can see from the response, the Federal 215's you bought are coveted by Magnum shooters.

Put a trade ad in the reloading sales section. You'll find someone who will gladly trade you your 215's for some Federal 210's. Be a good guy and trade 1 for 1.
