First time reloading 9mm

Nice. while I was away from calguns for about 10+ days I managed to cast about 6k of the 105gr .358 SWCs. Now once they are PCd I will be shooting them. Maybe I can bust out the TG and see how well it does.

Xtreme makes a quality plated bullet imo. I've run them up to 2,200 fps before I got terrible accuracy and copper stripping off in my .30-.30

I run them at 1700 fps as a plinker round in the .30-.30 with no ill effects.

I will typically google the mold or bullet weight and powder and usually I can find something on it.

Either from ARF, CB, THR or here...

I reloaded a 9mm last night only 20 rounds of each powder i will try it out soon.

Titegroup
115gr xtreme bullet RN
3.9gr
1.125 OAL

WSF
115gr Xtreme RN
4.9gr
1.169 OAl as hodgdon recommendation.

Im confused about the WSF pwder and my reference is online hodgdon the recommened OAL is 1.169 and im on that range. Is that right OAL since the titegroup OAL is on 1.125 the numbers have a big difference? Can i still go lower, if so what do you guys recommend?

I'm using 4.2 grains of Titegroup with Winchester 115 grain jacketed bullets at 1.135" OAL. Or 4.0 grains of Titegroup with 124 grain Extreme plated bullets at 1.135"OAL. Both cycle all of my guns reliably, and make power factor for IDPA. You may have to adjust OAL for your setup. My brother runs them shorter 1.100" through his G-34, no issues...

At 1.125 is my go to load.

All my 9mm pistols love it.

Exactly why I bought 35# of it. I love it and it works like a charm.

I use 5.5 of Unique at 1.12 OAL with an extreme 115 RN and works great for me. But looks like I'll find some Titegroup and give it a try. Looks like I would get more finished rounds per pound. [emoji3]

I mighy try 4.3 gr after i fire the 3.9gr. The max load online is 4.3 which scares me a bit because it would be first batch of load.

Rowell, save some of your 3.9gr and do a ladder test. That way, you can compare one load is different form the other. I'll do 20 of each:

3.9gr of TG
4.1gr of TG
4.3gr of TG

All seat to same COL.

That's how I was able to pick a load for my 40 and 45.

We can confirm the loads with a chrono. I have one but USI is closed!

That's a good tip saves me time going to the range especially USI is close. I'll make some 4.1gr and 4.3gr to TG seat to 1.125.

Hope USI will open soon so we can chrono the loads. But for the mean time ill check my first batch to the closest range ill find.

Finally shot the first batch of ammo that i loaded. My hands and ten fingers are still intact luckily=). Im really happy shooting it and was really excited.

The batch i made is a nice load. No failures or anything. wsf load seems to be more accurate than the titegroup maybe i need to find another recipe for the TG.

Wsf 1.150 OAL
5.1gr

Looking forward to load more ammo in different calibers. I sure did enjoy this new hobby!
