That is why I just shoot everything that I can Condors and Bald Eagles included with my pellet gun loaded with .22 cal zinc coated stainless steel bbs. I aim for the head and then three more to the body when they are flopping around.

See? Don't matter lead or not, if you shoot a bird, IT DIES...

You don't have to send in your reloads to be approved you only have to use approved bullets. I keep the bulllet info or the box they came in with me when I am hunting. I use barnes x or nosler bullets and now copperheads for small non game mammals. If you watch for deals you can reload very reasonably.

Yes once by warden todd Tognazzinni and once by warden Jim Solice in Parkfield and on Vineyard Canyon near San Miguel The info I gave satisfied them , also I had the product info in my vehicle. I gave Jim some of my paperwork to take back to office. I have lots of copies. They said if in doubt they ask for one cartridge and send in for for testing. Now they have a test kit on hand I am told. All my non lead is in labeled ammo cans with bullet mfg in can. I leave my lead ammo elsewhere when hunting as now you cannot have both in vehicle while in the field hunting in non lead area.

I'm hating on this. I have a couple hundred dollars worth of my proven hunting loads on hand. Grrr. Now I have to either buy or load my own and then prove they are legal?

If you have got it so bad, try having to build a rifle to match the ammo you gotta use . Favorite varmit gun won't shoot lead free worth a dang , to use the ammo gotta build a new one , at least a new barrel . Already on order so when it gets here I can build a load.
Bweise says "I have to say the situation was not at all helped by 22 yr old former Airsoft douches who kept touting here, "But possession is not illegal!" "

Hornady has a new line of rifle ammo out using their GMX Gilding Metal bullet, especially tailored for hog hunting in non-lead areas.
