    9mm Suggestions?

So I've been reading up all over the place on reloading. Most of what is around is info about .308 and .223. I'm new to reloading and Just picked up some equipment. Now I'm looking for some powder and bullets. Anybody have any suggestions on 9mm recipes that work well in a Sig P226? Thanks guys~

    HS-6 works for me. I use 6.9gr of HS-6 with a 115gr FMJ bullet seated with a C.O.L. of 1.130 or a JHP with a C.O.L. of 1.090. When I worked this load up I used 5.7gr min, 7.2gr MAX load.

My game load is as follows

      124 grain LRN
      3.7 grains of W231
      1.125" OAL

That's the lowest I wanna go with my CZ SP-01.

Check out the Hodgdon's website for recipies using their powders.

I like Hercules Unique. It burns well and does great with a variety of different
          bullet weights and makes.

                  I use:

                  115 grn FMJ
                  4.5 grns Win 231
                  1.140 COL

Shoots great through my Sig 226. Maybe just a tad weak if anything. I might also go with a 1.10 COL.

Shame on me for not knowing, but what is COL? Collective overall Length? Lol sorry bad with acronyms.

I've been loading my Montana Gold 115's with 4.8 of Universal Clays and a winchester primer. Brass is mixed commercial and Military. I generally load them long for my Para for feeding better, I would not have any issues loading the bullets to the 9mm Max OAL which I believe is either 1.130" to 1.135". I think mine are loading out to 1.145". They appear to be quite accurate in my Para P18 LDA when I actually choose to use the sights hitting the center A zone of an ipsc target from about 35 yards out.

The main reason I'm using the universal is that I have a fair amount of it and I want to use it up. I'm using Winchester small pistol primers to light them off.

I like it too, though now it's made by Alliant and burns cleaner.

One load that works well for me in my G17-
125gr LRN from bear creek (lead bullets in a Glock )
                          4.5gr Unique
                          1.10 COL
                          CCI 500 primer
                          mild crimp
                          Starline and Winchester brass

Still working on my 147gr Bear creek LTC load. Had success with 4.0gr and 1.12 COL & mild crimp. Need to head out for another round of testing to be more sure. Might back down the charge a tad.

Tested some loads with bullseye and this came out with the tightest groups.

                            Tested bullseye grains:
                            4.3, 4.6 grain powder 115gr FMJ
                            4.3, 4.6 5.0 grain powder 100gr FMJ
                            Tested COL: 1.099-1.149
Tested bullet: 115 and 100 grain FMJ from Golden West Brass

                            Winner:
                            4.3 grains Bullseye
                            115 grains FMJ
COL 1.095-1.14 (Lee's seating die seems to have a .09 flux)

Just bought Winchester 231 and some 115grain FMJ with a new lee's micro adjuster so I'll be getting better powder ranges instead of being limited to the autodisks. I'll update after next testing.

I use Montana Gold 124gr JHPs. At first I used Hogdgon Clays (the really fast stuff, charge weight was 3.6 IIRC), and now Hogdgon Universal. Once that's done, I think I'm going to just use Power Pistol.
