    I like it

It meters poorly... otherwise it goes bang and bullets go flying out, so its good in that sense.

Its a lot like a cleaner unique. Both 700x and unique are now on my "pass" list, unless absolutely nothing else is available and its a really great price. Im still working through a pound of both and hoping to find something else soon.

I wouldnt go out of my way to buy either.

700X is an extremely versatile powder I have used it for 9MM, 38SPL, 45ACP and 12GA Slug loads, with good results.

          Works good for 38SPL.

I really like 700-X for .38 spl target loads.

Very versatile, for many shotgun and pistol loads. Some say it meters poorly, but it meters very well for me, from a Lee powder measure on a Lee Pro 1000 no less.

It's my standard powder for both 45acp and 12 gauge shotgun. I've won more than a few matches using rounds loaded with 700x. I LOVE the stuff.

It is my go to powder for shotgun and 45 ACP.

Yeah well when you are using 700x on a Pro 1000, that is like crossing the streams. Normall y you can not do that, but in this case they both cancel out...

I heard that it IS an excellent powder for Shotgun, but damn, I do not want to get that press out just yet.

It is, as are several others. I use it for both 20 and 12 gauge, although 20 gauge loading data seems to have dropped out of the current manuals. Older books had many 20 gauge loads listed...... but then again when I first started loading 20 gauge with 700x those older manuals were the current ones.

I know a guy that's been using it for 28 gauge for years and years, and the same is true for that - listed in the old manuals but not in the current ones. I called and asked the manufacturer about that, and they were horrified that anyone would use 700x for anything but 12 gauge....... so go with the current listings.

But - 700x is versatile, and can usually be had when other powders are nowhere to be found..... so that's a big plus. If you were closer I'd buy that 8lb jug from you.

I like A2400 a lot as well, but that has been scarcer than hen's teeth for a good while now.

Have we all been reduced to just buying whatever the heck powder is available?

Wouldn't say that, but I'm sure most of us have multiple powders that we use for the same round. For pistol rounds, I have titegroup, autocomp, HP38 and CFE pistol.

There are certain powders I wouldn't touch or think about buying.

I use it for all my pistol loads

I used it originally for my 45 acp and loved it; then rather than buying a powder for each caliber tried with 9mm and 40s. Good results and easy/easier to get.

I used to use it .45 long colt loads and and it seemed dirty to me and stopped using it. Maybe I should give it another shot as that was 30 years ago and I was 14 or 15 at the time.
