Need your help car audio guys

Alight guys I have this old Kenwood sub amp that I was thinking about using. Thing is one of the terminals is trashed. Can I still use this amp? I only want to run a single 10" or 12" sub. What do you guys think?

Why don't you just solder in some wire to the busted terminal wire so that you can solder (or twist connect) the speaker wiring to and then use the rest of the terminals as designed? (assuming there is wiring on the back side of the terminals.)

It's a 1 minute fix, if you know how to solder or can get someone who does know how to do it for you.

I don't know if there is any wiring back there. Haven't opened it. I was just going to use the one good positive terminal.

What's the amp rating and the rating rms on the sub?

          I don't have a sub yet, but the amp rating is 1100w max. 300w 4 ohms, 550 rms 2 ohms. It's a Kenwood KAC-8152D.

Well you can run a 150 watt 4 ohm sub then.

How do I wire it? Obviously I use the one good positive, but which negative? Is it the first one or the 2nd? The one on the far right, right?

I don't need any system that is going to rattle the trunk and shake the mirrors.

Looks good, has good reviews but I dont have any first hand knowledge of that sub. What kind of car is this going into?

Ya, with the right box(if you have the room go bandpass) it will sound really good. Then you will be chasing down rattles

Might want to price a powered sub/ box/ tube combo. Might save you some hassle.

You will go deaf, or worse, tinnitus.

Don't ask me how I know.

Amps are so cheap these days, just trash it and find a bridgeable unit. Amazon and you can probably pick up a great deal.

As for that particular amp, it is already broken, so why no open it up and replace the entire terminal block. I am sure you can get the part you need from Digikey or Mouser for a couple of bucks.

Here is the Service Manual for the unit complete with parts list:

The exact part number from Kenwood is E70-0838-05, but it is almost certainly some standard off the shelf part made by Amp or the likes. The part is marked as discontinued by Kenwood, and I could not find any available through any brokerages. Best bet it is take the amp apart, remove the terminal block, and take measurements. Start looking through digikey for a part that you can make work. This is really a simple project if you can operate a screwdriver and solder iron. Both are about the same complexity level.

Buy guns and ammo instead of wasting your time and money on getting attention from hood-rats via bass.
