Finally made the switch from iPhone to galaxy

Tasker might be the only "must have" app because your phone already has the greatest app -- Google Now. OK fine, if you use your phone while you drive, then you should have Car Mode Ultra.

Those three apps and you're set.

Rooting your phone is a dawdle these days with Towelroot, but Towelroot grants root to ANY app that asks, so make sure if you go that route you still use SuperSU to prevent evil apps from getting root access.

Well, one example would be an app which claims to do something (play chess over the internet, for example), but also scans your shared memory to scrape passwords from your bank account or gmail or etc., which it then emails to The Bad Guys.

You cannot "watch out" for something like that. An app requests root permission. If your phone is rooted, you can grant that permission (or, as in the case of towelroot without super su, you are always granting that permission without being part of the loop).

Once you have granted root permission, you have no proof the phone is not doing evil things. It becomes a simple issue of trust (unless you have the actual source code, and built the app yourself from that source, but that's very, very rare). So you are trusting root apps to only do what they say they will do. App X has a very high rating with a zillion reviews in the Play store, so you trust it. But trust isn't the same thing as certainty...unless you built the app yourself after examining the source code, you don't know what it's doing with root permission.

That's why you should at least, imo, run super su, or other root permission mgmt app. That way, you'll at least know that only the apps you think should have root permissions actually do have them. Of course, now we're trusting super su....

The iPhone 6 is racist because if you are fat and sit down with it in your pocket it bends. My Galaxy 3 (old Skool) fits perfectly in my 48" stretchy pegged skinny jeans. It only bends a little bit, even on the hard plastic seats on the bus.
