Finally made the switch from iPhone to galaxy

Was seriously considering making the switch myself. After reading all this think i will remain loyal to Apple. LOL

the call and voice quality is miles above the iPhone. It is actually nice to hear the person on the other line, and vice versa.

battery life blows apple away, and I'm a heavy user. I'm normally charging my phone by lunch. Not happening with the galaxy so far.

my biggest gripe so far is the notification system for emails. I would like a little pop up circle on the actual app instead of the notification bar. Other than deleting some of the bloated pre installed bullcrap, I'm happy.

I remember *****ing the iPhone 3g when I switched over from the blackberry years ago.

I'll adapt and overcome. I think you should try switching. You have a week to decide if you don't like the phone and it's only a $35 restocking fee.

Kies Air is great, it should already be on your phone but if not get it. It allows you remote access to your phone using any web browser and WiFi. Up/down load music, video, any files, ringtones. Edit calendar, save text messages. Stream music and videos from your phone.

Waze is a good one for GPS and traffic. Google maps(already on your phone) works great too and also has great navigation since it also tracks traffic on your route. It will also show you alternate routes with ETA as you drive.

Gun Vault Pro, track your gun usage, ammo, logs.

Dash Command, Allows you to read OBD2 codes from your car, real time display of speed, rpm, temps, current gear, fuel level, fuel trim. Needs OBD 2 Bluetooth reader.

I have an S4, rooted my note2 before and it is a little hassle for me getting the carrier updates. Pretty much kept my S4 stock. I do hate the ads though. I recently bought an iPad 4 with cellular and im enjoying it. Bigger screen to surf the net, read, watch netflix, longer battery life.. May switch to iPhone. Maybe.

So I revisited this and finally went online and check what's up with rooting. It is so easy now. No need for any PC. Just download an app and boom. Rooted!

I got sick of all the annoying ads that YouTube forces you to watch just to see one video.

and I found a simple application called "video tube"

and although there is a very small banner ad,
it is controllable in a more refined way, in my opinion, than YouTube ever was.

it's not perfect but if you're watching more than one video I always go there I make my own custom playlists and then just simple finger swipes on the screen let you go forward or back your preset amount of time on the video or skip the video and go to the next or previous one.

and it has every video YouTube has.

^^^ and just to make it clear you do not see the banner ad when the videos are playing, just very rarely during the startup process.
another plus is you can control screen size. and a few other features that I haven't even used yet.

although I'm sure they make a professional version that you have to pay for, but it has bettercontrols and settings.
