Any reason to choose Netflix over Amazon.Prime?

Here is another reason possibly to get Amazon over Netflix provided that the same thing has not been done to Amazon.

I keep hearing that "Netflix has a better selection" and yet I'm not really seeing it. Amz lists their selection at 40k titles and Netflix has refused to specify a number from what I can find but some numbers put their streaming titles as low as 20k. But of course how much is just crap programming.

Personally I'm all about movies and for that I can't see much of a difference.

Platforms? Netflix is on about everything. Amazon is on anything that I would actually want to use. Xbox, Playstation, Wii, Tivo, Roku, and a slew of blueray players and TV's. My TV in fact has an Amazon button right on the remote to jump right to it.

Netflix has better apps and a way slicker interface to be sure. But for us we are pretty price conscious and I can't keep both so for us it's going to be AMZ. For now at least.

Only a small portion of the titles available on Amazon are free for Prime customers. You have to pay for the rest.

Discovered another reason to go Amazon Prime yesterday, probably won't mean much to you unless you have kids.... Mister Rogers Neighborhood is on there! I haven't checked if they have "all" the episodes but there are bunches of episodes. If you have kids you may want to check it out. This morning at breakfast my boys and I watched the very first (B&W) episode from 1967. Brought back some memories, though he was much creepier back in the 60's than in his later elderly years.

There is a workaround for android to watch Amazon video using the dolphin browser, and possibly firefox. I have the Amazon instant video app on my iPad and iPhone. It works very well.

With Amazon prime you just need to complain to the online chat support when an item arrives late. They will credit you a month of service to make up for it. They limit credits to 12 per year. I've gotten about 8 months added to my account this year because of that.

I also got an Amazon credit card just for Amazon purchases. It gives me bonus points for all purchases made. That easily pays for the prime membership every year. As long as you pay off your account every month, which I do, it's a win win situation.

I usually watch on my HTPC, but my Ipad has a Amazon video app. Doesn't work with Chromecast yet though.
