You can build an awesome i5 + gaming pc that will do everything and more for you for $900.

I can build one easily for $900.

True. Regardless of the warranty, Costco's prices really aren't that good. They're more like MSRP.

Around Christmas last year the best laptop 'deal' at Costco was around $600. Got a decent machine for my wife for around $350 from my local Office Depot. (I'm not much of an 'extended warranty' type of guy, computers seldom break and if they do I'd rather just replace it.)

Price wasn't such a big deal for me, just wanted it under 900...under 800 was fine for what I need. Looked around at Walmart, Best Buy, and some other places, for the same spec computer Costco was lower and many of the other places computers only had half the ram or hard drive for about the same price. So with the warranty, no hassles, and my prefences (i dont need a gaming beast)...I feel this cpu was a good value, and being able to walk out same day, set it up and use it..great. My only gripe is that Windows 8 is going to take some getting used to, and I'm gonna buy a big monitor for at home use.

They were going to avoid the Kirkland brand CPU computers because they only came in a 5 pack (one for each room) but there were 4 other customers looking at them and they ended up splitting them instead...

I personally do not care to run any brand of computer. I like to build my own because it is fun.

Yes, I like to pull my hair out on occasion. But it is still fun...

If you never want to fix anything inside, or add a HDD or CD drive they are fine.

If you even have to replace hardware they are fine.

If you ever think you might want an additional HDD, or CD drive, then check to see if something would fit before buying... many times they won't if it is a small form-factor.

              I justy realized something.

Stop by my house, I have 8 computers for under $900 that I will gladly set you up with your choice.

I even have a super RARE P3 900mhz emachine that I rescued from the side of the road and wiped and added RAM and reinstalled XP. I will even include the original crappy 640x480 hawaii vacation photos and some bad essays and school work that I saved to read and laugh at from time to time. (Boy their kids were bad spellers.)

If you want Linux I have 18 different versions d/led and ready to go... Let me know. I need some money to be a recertified cgnsa shooting instructor in the reloading forums...

If the work will take an hour or two I can hook up walking dead or home made movies of my dog attacking the lawn mower while I try to mow the back yard for you to watch on the TV... I also just got Jerry Maguire. I heard it was a good movie. Very motivational... just lemme know...

***EDIT: Damn I need to take up crack so that I can have a better excuse for these things I make called posts...
