Its hooked up correctly in and out hehe, monitor is an HP2311X connected via DVI.

I'm headed back to frys in a bit to get a replacement and I'll report back. Gotta be DOA card or something very weird that corsair power supplies wont power GTX 770s.

Yea. I only use Corsair's because of their customer service and the fantastic
service I get out of their PSU's and most mem.

Really nice build by the way. I hope you get it resolved !

Thanks, can't get a new card till tomorrow morning. Fremont Fry's is out of em so I have to take a trip to Palo Alto

On the up side, the integrated video could be a lot worse, so in the mean time I have my normal 2 monitor desktop back and a fresh windows 7 install up and running.

Even without overclocking it turbos to 3.9ghz so faster than my old i7 930 when it was maxed out. Once I get the GPU sorted I'll see how fast it can go.

The 22nm Haswell is pretty impressive in the power department, it idles at 0.014v and with Prime95 running 8 threads it maxed out at 60c and 1.025v

Hope to hit ~4.8ghz when all is said and done.

Off subject but I'm pretty upset that the 770 has higher clock/boost/memory speeds and is roughly $100 cheaper than the 680. Sorry if I

Any reason why you just didn't install a pre-built watercooling system instead of the fan? You can get an Antech Kuhler for $60. Mine has been running flawlessly for 3 years and my processor rarely gets higher than 50C

New cards are faster than old cards I'm upgrading from a Radeon 5870HD so it doesn't take much to impress me speed wise at this point hehe.

Re: water cooling, I already had the NZXT cooler so no need to spend extra money. At this point I'd rather spend the money on an SSD, my hard drive is the loudest component in the system.

Off to Frys in a few minutes, looks like all the Asus cards are gone so I'm hoping to pick up an EVGA 770 which showed up in stock this morning.

Yeah NO DOUBT. THAT is the first problem, well, the first problem was name calling computer folk. WTF is a tech head?

The actual problem prolly stems from making a purchase from FRY'S. AKA the F' store. I wonder if that psu had a big QUALITY CHECK sticker with an initial of some jackass that does not know what they are looking at too. Prolly a 350w Hercules psu that someone painted black and put back in the box.

The third problem is too much goddamn money spent on a system that will be slow in 6 months. LoL. I aint an intel fan, but even I know to have a look at the i5 instead of an i7.

LOL@16GB of RAM... Geeze. You Money heads that throw cash at a computer just to get the absolute most that you can for a few days always make me laugh.

That is all I have to offer. Take it back. Did it all come from the F' store?

Who pissed in your cheerios? I'm sorry you have no money, and were personally wronged by Fry's.

Well if it doesn't work I suggest just throwing everything out. You can mail the parts to me for disposal

Yeah I know. I am the guy everyone loves to hate. Just keep in mind YOU started your thread with the name calling...

Glad it worked out for you in the end, but if you got another card with a white label in the corner and possibly sealed by Fry's with two straps of nylon packing bands, your "new" card might be needing to be returned again so be sure to save all of your receipts.

I can not help you on the driving part but there are MANY people that talk **** on Fry's.

For me it happened when I was hunting down a Soyo 5EMA+ socket 7 mobo because I needed MORE slots for expansion, I had a SCSI, sound card, network card, graphics card, and I needed something beyond a normal 2-3 PCI microATX board. I went to the F' store because I was new to their store and I thought it was an awesome place to walk around at. When I got that Soyo 5EMA+ board home I opened it up to find that it was something like a 5 EVP or something and CLEARLY it did NOT even look like the the picture on the box. This board came from the fountain valley F' store and only after I first drove to Tustin to check it out and saw they were out. When I returned it I wanted a NEW one, I remember that when I picked it up they had a WHOLE table of them, well turned out that 19 of those 21 they had were RETURNS. All had that stupid QC label and all had been sealed up with their nylon strapping bands so you could not open them. I was willing to bet that ALL of those boards were the same scam that I had got. Wow, they actually had NOTHING but resealed boards on two 6' tables in their comp section. **** their medieval theme, I was now pissed that I wasted over an hour of driving and my time and I ended up having to buy the mobo online. So yeah, **** them. **** them in the ear till they bleed. When I go to that store I only go to look for things that have NO label on them (about 19% of their inventory by my slightly exaggerated guess).

As for money, well, you make it so blow it like you want to, but I see too many times where people spend WAY more money then they need to and it just makes me laugh. Personally I think that buying brand new top end stuff as a consumer is a waste unless you are building a testing rig and you are messing with benchmarking. Else keep it simple, air cooled fast enough to run most stuff and a decent card (that has dropped in price) and you can not usually go wrong. I learned that back in 1994 when I started building systems for people.
