    Skyrim...wait for it...LEGENDARY!

First go through I never bothered going Legendary with any skills. Trying it out this time and a quick word of advice if you use a bow, make plenty of arrows beforehand. Luckily I had plenty of arrows when I did it. But then I realized I couldn't make any awesome weapons or armor for some time.

Things to think of before you depart down that road.

No need to make plenty of arrows. With all of the encounters that you have with folks you can easily snag free iron arrows.

BUT, wanna know what I did? >

Buy or come across ONE expensive arrow, Stalrhim, Glass, Daedric, Dragonbone Etc. Give ONLY ONE to your follower. (Lydia in my case) and she will use that type of arrow everytime she uses her bow. When you recover bodies you will find her arrows in them as well as stuck all over the grounds where she missed.

Get your pickpocket up and you can put in the expensive arrows into the guards pockets for them to use also. I have the guards at Solitude that are always taking target practice durring the day shooting dragonbone arrows now and after about 20 of them are shot they start to recycle so grab them all, wait a few minutes and then grab more or return to grab some more after grabbing moss and other flowers and ingredients from the castle grounds.

The only thing I do not get is how do you get high damage weapons. My Dragonbone bows are Legendary and I made them with the 32% upgraded skills but that was as high as I can go, then when they were improved they went to like 200 or so damage, but how is anyone able to make a bow that is hitting 500 or more or whatever? Yeah with a sneakshot I can do triple damage and take a dragon out in almost 1 shot, but not if they are flying around and I have been detected. heh. Oh well.

I have sunk about 190hrs into the game with only 1 character.

Presently i am at 97 enchanting and 99 blacksmithing. Its the single best decision I made because of a play style gets boring I can simply craft a set of whatever I choose and play as I choose.

Very impressed with compromises between past ES games and the abstraction of the fallout perk system.

They changed around smithing. Seems the best advances in smithing now might come from dwarven bows instead of just iron daggers...- but if you go to the windhelm market you can boost your enchanting, smithing and even alchemy in one sitting albeit a very long sitting but when you are done you will prolly also have over half a mil gold pieces+...

I am enjoying my first character very much right now. I am only lvl 31, but with 100 sneak and some sneak boosting items, I can walk in front of things and they don't see me. The only time I have a hard time is when I have a follower assigned to me for a quest, then it's sniping time.

It is ALL about getting 5K and getting your FIRST house.

Save up 5K in gold and buy that house in whiterun and they will assign Lydia. If SHE is your follower, hehehe, she is badass hardcore. I love her. She will run up and start **** with all the bandits, as soon as they turn red on your compass she goes after them. I do not particulary like her taste in armor though. I try to figure out what it is that she likes and it SEEMS to be heavy armor, but she also will put on a robe from time to time. I was rather pissed though that I gave her some cool stuff and she did not wear it once. But anyways, with her, you gotta snipe else she will go hth and kill everything unless it is a falmer she gets into a scrap with.

Oh look a cave, I wonder what's inside...

No thank you on Lydia or any follower, they just bring me down. Back stabbing deathlords and the like in a dungeon is how I roll. I stopped all the main quests because I need to get to lvl 46 for top tier stats, so I have been doing the deadric quests. I cleared a place without being seen once before this morning, so awesome.

Money is super easy to come by. At level 39 I have homes in Whiterun, Riften, Markath, Solitude, and Lake Shore Manor.

at this point in the game I'm literally leaving most armor and weapons on corpses simply bc i dont want to play the inventory management minigame ( )

The only weapons / armor / clothing I pick up are enchanted items so I can attempt to disenchant for new enchanting options

                    I hate this thread.
I used to consider myself a serious PC gamer. I eagerly downloaded Skyrim and was completely overwhelmed by the size/options/variations in the game and gave up pretty quickly. It is a truly awesome game but it feels as though you need to make a pretty hard core commitment to it in order to get the most out of it. Bopping in for 20-30 minutes of play a few times a week proved pointless for me.

I played it for a while on the Xbox, I exploited the hell out of the sneak bug on the monks at the dragon temple (whatever it is called). I need to go back and finish it up. Hours of fun in there.

LoL really sucked me in hard though.

I like it because with two little ones I CAN pop in for an hour here or there and make some headway.

Looking forward to getting Legendary enchanting. Does it really boost your enchantments that much?

It really doesn't require a whole lot of commitment to get somewhere in Skyrim, it's just the enormity of the game. Now Morrowind on the other hand, to get anywhere, you need to sit down and play for hours at a time to get started, really.

Skyrim is easily the smallest ES game they have made.

Dont feel overwhelmed. The "skills" tree is more about "creating the play style you want" rather than min-maxing. I did enchanting / blacksmithing focused bc I waffle on "how I want to play" all the time

Yeah, I wanted my speech to 100 so that I can sell STOLEN stuff and make the vendors have MORE money in the game, PLUS, for some bizarre reason when you do that and go to the tip of the merchant/speech Homeboy in Riverwood or whatever gets like 12k gold everytime you reset him. And he is the ONLY one that does it.

I also wanted my BOW skills up as well as my enchanting and alchemy because it is COOL to carry 500 potions worth 4k+ each. That is just how I roll... I also like to collect and since I am a hoarder I have the garden and fish hatchery and greenhouse and kitchens but I do not see a need for a kitchen really cept to give you salmon roe, milk and maybe butter or honey... Anyways, greenhouses and all that rule. I like to just run around and collect ingredients some times. I can do that for HOURS.

I also like the Kill shots. I think that is cool to have an ARROW CAM that follows the arrow and when it hits an elk or whatever and it squeals and falls over, WINNING! Of course my bows are always enchanted with 1 second firey soul trap so there is that crack and lightning coming back at me. I love the dual enchanting, Stun them for 1-2 seconds plus firey soul trap is killer for just about everything. Put all that on a Legendary Dragonbone bow with Dragon Bone arrows and LTFO!

                              POE needs some killshots...

As for Lydia, she is HOT. They need to make a 12MO calendar with her. I bet I can do it with all the screen shots... And her voice is sexy too, reminds me of Kate Beckett from Castle... :O

If she gets too agressive I will sit her in timeout just at the beginning of the section where I need to whoop on someone. She is always nice to have as a mule to carry stuff. I find that I have the habbit of picking up things that are WORTH money, even though I already have over 2 mill in my safe and two+ homes packed with weapons and armor.
