Look out for Box.com, they have promotions for 50gb free with sign up often. Basically the same thing. I signed up with two emails and now have 100gb. I'm set.

hmm box.com I'll check it out

I'm signed up with a few different places right now..just switched over to sky drive

My purpose is to have alert images from my camera's stored online in case the Camera server is stolen or the house burns down etc..

I think sky drive's 7gb is enough but we'll see..

I do this with Dropbox, it's awesome.

I also have my cams backup to an ftp server (and email pix to my gmail ), but Dropbox streams video to my S3 without any significant lag.

Nice, but why are you using dropbox to stream video instead of just streaming it directly from your NVR/DVR or software on your computer?

I'm streaming video via the built in web server on my NVR software and just using sky drive to back up the alert images.

for android you can download Ip cam viewer.

No no, I do that too. Dropbox streams anything I missed.

If you know anyone that attends college ask them to use their email address for a few minutes.

Its worth 25GB free storage for life ha ha ha

I don't like my files being on shared storage... that could be hacked, while the provider can finger them (and might even be part of the TOS for fingering) and copy data...

same here that's why I only use it for files that are very low risk....you should ask your self what would happen if the data became public..for me stills of foot traffic in and out of the house is no big deal.

For the privacy of all that you cherish, please put your data into an encrypted folder -aka truecrypt or other tool. Then synch up the encrypted folder to your cloud storage -dropbox, idrive, whatever.

Data security for cloud storage is very lax ... IMHO.

... as a tin-foil hat wearing data security nerd, I don't trust any of them.

try not to put sensitive info on the cloud... also they get hacked easily. a while back dropbox was in the news for not encrypting data and stored passwords in plain text
