Modern cables are all digital, get the cheapest one you can find. Some companies, like Monster Cable, tries to convince you that their high priced gold plated cable will allow for a better connection and clearer picture etc. Some people buy into that, thinking that these cables are like those in the analog world (eg. TVs and monitors from 20 years ago).
Today, if it connects, you get good picture. If it doesn't work, return it. There is no such thing as connect but getting poor quality video due to bad cable.

Don't believe all the hype over the different versions and different types of support. It is all marketing hype. HDMI is digital. The signal doesn't degrade like analog signal.
