I am getting ready to go on deployment and would like to put my dvd's on my laptops hdd so I have something to watch. I have winx dvd ripper, but every dvd I try it tells me I have to use the platinum edition for. Is there a better option? Thanks

I used to use clone cd so I do like their stuff, if I am reading it correctly, once I install it it will allow winx to rip the disks to my HDD?Land of the Free BECAUSE of the brave.

AnyDVD can be free, IF you are willing to backrev a Windows ghost image when trial expires... on a one-trick pony.

I use DVDShrink.
It can copy DVD to DVD or to HDD.
It can also compress Video to fit in a smaller space. (Fit a Dual Layer DVD onto Single Layer)
Been using it for years. Was still free last time I checked...Comment

If I were to start ripping movies then I would go get a program called U-Torrent.
Then I would install it (all totally free) then head over to the pirate bay and grab the latest copy of anydvd that has comments and people check it out and it is all good. THEN I would install it, run the keygen and let it run, THEN get a copy of IMGBURN and (which is free) and start copying them to the HD. Then I would realize that all these damn movies take up 4+ GB of data nad I would invest in an external HD. OR BR burner so I can fit about 5 on a disk...
Good luck, be safe and shoot some bad guys for us. Maybe you will have some of your OWN movies for us when you come back?

DVDShrink will not decrypt much anymore, unless you are making a digital copy of say: Conan the Barbarian (that didn't have any encryption), or something with pretty old encryption.

Yeah, DVD Shrink was also replaced with imgburner I believe. (or am I once more mixed up?)
Now hey wait a sec or two on some of these home made movies. I see them all over the place on you tube now... Come on. I don't mean snuff videos, I mean like door kicking videos and kicking over kybows in the middle of the desert and all... :\

I like to shoot everything I can of course my only war journalism was when I donned my 35mm Vivatar 2000 and shot the wars at Sat Cong Village all day long. Oh yeah, I was there, Russia, Beirut, Vietnam. You name it, I shot it I was there when the PAINT hit the fan! I saw it all go down and I captured all that I could. Too bad it was in black and white... (I had to develop it myself and I only knew how to do black and white...)
