Phishing does not equal a session ID hack, which Blizzard has said there is absolutely no evidence of ever happening and that it is physically impossible. Also, every single account that has been hacked has not been using an authenticator. Every single person on the forums who claims to have been hacked is also not using the authenticator. You can verify this by checking their achievements since you get an achievement for the WoW pet you get when you setup the authenticator. I trust Blizzard a lot more than I do a bunch of clueless n00bs. Not to mention every one who claims "session ID spoof hacked" is getting called out on the forums.

I didn't mean phishing my password I meant they were trying to get me to add them to my friends list. Whatever man I'm not going to get into an argument with you over whether its IMPOSSIBLE to hack blizzard or not.

All I'm saying is after seeing what I've seen I'm not adding anyone to my social that I don't know. Period. And no, I'm not a clueless n00b, and I'm not inventing some term for an attack I know nothing about.

PS I never played wow so I have no idea what you're talking about when you mention a "WoW Pet achievement" and whatever else.

Read this thread, there is no "session ID spoofing" hack going on. It really is n00bs getting keylogged/phished and people trolling.

When you setup the authenticator with your Battle.net account you gain a WoW pet and an achievement for doing so. I guarantee if there was a session ID hack being used to access accounts Blizzard would take down the servers until there was a fix. Not to mention they would be opening themselves up to legal hell by denying this if it was happening.

Lol. Okay buddy it's impossible to get hacked on bnet. Impossible. Can't happen, never did happen, and never will happen.

I should never have posted anything in response, as I KNEW this was where this would go. You're an expert, right? Then you should know that it's naive to think that it's impossible to successfully attack ANY system Bnet or otherwise.

Did I say it cannot be compromised? No I did not. I said that this so called "session ID spoofing" hack is not happening. Face the facts, everyone who is buying into this has been trolled.

If this was going on Blizzard is legally required to notify the affected parties. Like I said, them denying this would open them up to legal hell. Until someone offers up proof of this going on (sniff your own session, show the session ID, now inject it on another system to login) I'm inclined to believe Blizzard.

In reality you're probably right. Trolling is WAY more common than being hacked on there.

Not to mention the session traffic is all encrypted.

EDIT: I will also add that I have been joining public games since launch and I have not had any issues.

There were TONS of people who lost all achievements gained in the first 48 hours. not sure if this is one of thosee effected achievements.

But at the same time Blizzard has stated multiple times on the forum, that none of the accounts they've investigated that were compromised had an authenticator. As JDay pointed out, Blizzard would be setting themselves up for a legal nightmare if they lied about it like that. Blizzard may be greedy, but they aren't retarded.

Well, they should be telling the truth about the authenticator, but they could definitely 'turn the blind eye' so to speak about a vulnerability. In other words, they could be saying that players lost their stuff by means other than a vulnerability in D3 as long as it wasn't documented that they found the vulnerability that leads to the things people are describing...

Bnet and Blizz are under a lot of pressure to deliver a secure product, and telling everyone that people might be getting hacked is about the last thing they want to do this early in the game. If it's me I'd do anything I legally could to stop people from getting the idea that they could get hacked playing d3, whether I knew of a vuln or not. Think about what that would do to their sales.

                                Just sayin'.
