Just got the game last night. I'm ticked that there's no offline mode, though. Every time the server goes down, my game goes down and I have to start over at the last checkpoint. Very annoying, especially when the server uptime was pretty anemic.

I must have some miracle network connection straight to blizzard's datacenter because after the first hour of launch, I've had zero issues with this game except one lag spike that almost resulted in a death.

The lack of offline play definitely wasn't something that blizzard hid.

glad other fellow calgunners are not having a problem. have gateway p7811fx and can only play the game with everything set at the lowest or off, 800x600 rez, and limited FPS to 30 and 1.

to the calgunners - don't join public games with people you dont know right now. There's a session exploit where you can sniff a players session token and spoof it to get into their character (that specific character)

Lots of people are getting wiped clean of items and gold.

No surprise, the CPU in that laptop is slower than the minimum requirement of 2.8GHz and the Nvidia card in that laptop is slow. Time to upgrade that 4 year old system.

Just use the Battle.net Authenticator app for Android or iOS. If someone tries to access your account from another system or IP they will be prompted for the 8 digit rolling code.

Uhh, yeah. Because your videocard is long obsolete. A 9800M GTS is about the equivalent of an 8800GTS(desktop card), which barely meets the requirement.

His CPU is actually fine. It's not just ghz that matters, his CPU is a few generations ahead of the pentium D mentioned for the diablo 3 minimum requirements. Of course when you barely meet the requirements with the videocard... yeah the framerate is going to suck even when you turn the settings down.

Of course this is also why I believe gaming laptops are a rip-off. Even if you pay top dollar today, it'll still be mediocre compared to a desktop. Since you can't upgrade most laptop components, what you end up with 2-3 years later is an overpriced laptop that cost $2,000, performs as well as a current generation $800 laptop, gets horrible battery life, and weighs a ton(because 12 pound "gaming laptops" with 30-45 minutes of battery are useful to carry around).

Unfortunately that doesn't stop this supposed issue. The problem is that they end up with the session token, so when they connect with a client they're already logged in as you without having to login. Of course this is all speculation(but a possibility).

At least that's the theory behind it. Bashiok(from the Blizzard forums, I believe he was the producer or something) stated that they had yet to find a case where the compromised account had an authenticator before it was "hacked".

Of course Blizzard did decide to shut down the AH, then took the game offline for 8 hours of maintenance... so who knows.
