Out of curiosity, is anyone in here actually supporting Android OS at the Enterprise level? How are you pushing out company/organization/campus SSL certificates, VPN configuration, WiFi settings, etc? Is there some sort of configuration XML you can sign with a CA Certificate that your Android OS clients can download?

Well I have had time to play with my Samsung Galaxy SII Skyrocket and my Gf's iPhone 4.
Some brief comparisons:
-Samsung Super Amo LED is as bright and clear as the iPhone.
-Samsung has a bigger screen, thinner frame and less weight than iPhone.
-I work in the hills, the 3 major carriers get spotty service. I got better service and even 4g (I know its quasi 4g). Guys with other AT&T phones could not get as good of service that I got.
-The UI works great, I can monitor active apps and shut them down as easy as the iPhone.
-AT&T's multitasking working great, on Pandora, texting, phone calls all work well.
-I could not compare iPhone wifi to cell network transition. On the Samsung, I would be streaming Pandora at home, leave in the car and have no skip in the music. Could be that Pandora caches the song.
I really haven't done much tweaking, I have some bloatware I would like to remove. Otherwise I am happy. Still learning a touch keyboard compared to keys on a Blackberry. Damn you autocorrect! lolsigpicComment

Not even a question. IPhone all day. Email and browsing are far superior. I set up the phones for my sales people using both platforms so I have experience with both. I'm typing this on android tablet and use iPhones since the second generation. The biggest argument android users use is specs. Faster processor, more ram blah blah blah. The reason apple products are great is integration. It just works. Better resale and better physical material production. I can also sell my iPhone every year and buy the newest generation with the proceeds usually at 100%

One of my big problems with Apple was integrating my MP3's into iTunes. I pulled my SD card loaded with MP3 data out of my Blackberry and put it in my Samsung and it all worked! I can plug my Samsung into my comp and upload data like an external drive. I don't need iTunes to manage my data. Not even a question. IPhone all day. Email and browsing are far superior. Both platforms have their pros/cons. Personally, I prefer Android due to the flexibility and personilization it allows. Although Android has been around a few years, it's adoption was catapulted by Verizon with the release of the original Droid just over 2 years ago.
Androids latest evolution, Ice Cream Sandwich, is a major update to the OS. I was lucky enough to play with the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus last week and was thoroughly impressed.
My gripe with Android is not with the OS, it's with some of the manufacturers. Take Motorola for example. They are releasing too many phones too fast. I wouldn't have an issue if the devices weren't released with KNOWN issues. Serious KNOWN issues. They need to spend more time on the software...clearly. Droid Bionic, Droid RAZR and later this month the Droid 4...all within a couple months. The Bionic and the RAZR both have major issues with 3G to 4G hand-off as well as many other known issues. Let's hope Google fixes Motorola Mobility. It is dangerous to be right when your government is wrong. -Voltaire
