I have a 34" widescreen LG that runs at 2560x1080. This is already dated, but the monitor has been bulletproof through constant use for 2+ years. It replaced a 32" LG with the same resolution that is just as reliable. I still use them both as a dual monitor set up for work (MS Office) and a lot of PC gaming. No dead pixels, no artifacts, very easy setup, and they have decent built in speakers (which I don't use.)

Both monitors were sub $300 new. Newer versions are still around that price.

Picked up a 4K 32" Dell SE3223Q on Amazon a while back for $319. Very happy with it.

OP you mentioned that you need high resolution. You might want to go with a lower resolution. The higher you go the smaller the fonts get. Now, you can always increase the magnification of the display at the OS level. But I would think that you don?t necessarily want the highest resolution possible.

That makes sense. I think all I need is a bigger screen, like 32" instead of the 24" I have now. Prime Day is coming up in a couple weeks.

Looks like your chipset can only do 4K @ 60Hz with a DisplayPort interface. For HDMI, it can only do 4K@24Hz.

Head over to Best Buy and Costco and compare- they both have a handful of screens up and running. Do it now, so you can take your time and ponder what's going to work. If you wear glasses, wear them and also take them off- to see what's what. That way you're good to go when the Prime Days launch- and of course other vendors compete with it.

I run dual monitors that accumulated over the last year or three. If I was buying new/fresh- I'd go with a single larger one. I haven't found cranking up font settings to cause problems, but I didn't make extreme changes. YMMMV, have fun!

That isn?t entirely true. You can adjust text size to whatever you want. You can try it now in your web browser. Hold CTRL and use the scroll wheel on your mouse.

Yes, that's what I need to do occasionally now. But, the entire page doesn't show on the screen. So, I'm thinking a bigger screen will have bigger fonts without using the magnifier?

Personal preference. I don't like them, probably just because I'm not used to them. Others around work love them.

I had a 49" curved which was really wide and I was turning my head way to much to see either side. I hated that thing. Gave it to another manager and he loves the crap out of it, thinks its the best monitor ever made.

I would think 49" is WAY too big for the desktop. More of an across the room size for Powerpoint, etc.

I'm shopping 32", going from 24" to 32".
