I still rock a PS4 no complaints here, I mostly use it to manage netflix/disney & DVD's. Don't game as much gives me a head ache and anxiety

I'm oldish and have a PS5 that replaced my XBox One. I hardly ever play any games on it but the kids do now and then. Its function is really as a media center. Netflix, Amazon video, HBO +..... The PS5 runs all these apps quickly and smoothly and it requires little to no maintenance like using a PC as a media center would. Having ditched cable tv this is nice to have. As for gaming, what little I do is on a high end PC.

Games have a come a long way since pixellated characters and silly MIDI noises. My current favorite is "Stationeers" - a complex survival and engineering game where you have to build a base on Mars (and other places), create breathable atmospheres and fuels by mixing gases in precise ratios, establish and layout power networks, smelt alloys for fabrication while staying within temperature and pressure restrictions, establish food production and automate systems through an assembly-like scripting language. Not a casual game for "kids"

My gaming days were on a C64.

My son had a 3DO & NES but now is strictly a PC gamer. He’s still at it at 33.

I game on a PC. I have a PS3 that I bought just to have a blu-ray player when they were new. I've not had a compelling reason to buy a newer console. While I do hate that GTA is always late to the PC, it's not worth it to buy a console for a handful of games that I might play.

Oh, and the fact that I can't just order one on amazon or buy it in Target. I'm not following some effing twitter feed to get updates on when new consoles drop, that's just insane.

90% of the time I play anything it's on my PC. I have a PS5 that's been collecting dust. Most of the sony licenses I've played on the PS4 I had and the PS5 has a serious lack of first party exclusives to make me sit on it. God of War will be the first time I really get excited for a PS5 game.

I enjoyed many good games of Asteroids and Tempest back in 1984. After that the appeal of video games wore thin.

Considering Sony is releasing some of its big titles onto PC, getting a PS5 ain't really in the cards for me which is a shame since they had a lot of strong titles from the PS2 era into even during the middle life of the PS4, but the chase for larger & ever-more visually impressive titles starts losing its appeal when every big budget game "feels" the same & those file sizes growing into potentially triple-digit GB spaces like MW2019 totalling 250GB last I heard, its better long-term to invest in a home PC or even a gaming laptop.

I game on PS4 and have never had an issue, maybe instead of consoles and gaming experiences improving they are getting worse??

I mean, it irritates the hell out of me when someone uses the living room tv to play video games, so no consoles here except a Wii. No one wants to listen to you play Elden Ring or COD or whatever, especially through the big stereo. I play on the PC in the office since I need to own a PC anyway. Might as well multitask. Yeah, consoles can play discs and stuff, but a dvd player has a smaller footprint, no rando power adapter and doesn't need ventilation.

Consoles are lame. Also, though it may be wrong, I have the impression that adults who play console games are losers or pot heads.

For the 10 or so hours a year I play games (flight sim or shooter) it's on the PC.

Well, you are wrong there. I'm not a loser nor a pothead. Yes, yes, PC master race and all that... But sometimes its just easier to drop on the couch and play a couple levels of whatever with your kid.

I've been building my own gaming PCs since there were gaming PCs... When upgrading meant you were pressing ICs into slots or prying them out. Before Voodoo cards and all that. Consoles have their place.

I won't play FPS games on a console. I'm a twitch gamer and consoles just suck *** for that.

It depends heavily on the type of games you prefer. I have a PS4 and XBOX One. I would have bought a PS5 when they were first released, but they were hard to come by and I lost interest before finding one at less than 2X retail. The consoles I already own don't get much use, so perhaps it was better not to find a 5.

There are only two games I play frequently, and both are on PC via Steam: Il-2 BOS and Age of Empires 4. AOE4 is branded as an XBOX studios game, but like its predecessors 1-3, it is a PC game at heart and performs best with a mouse and keyboard.

There are plenty of console "flight sim" games that are more like arcade games than sims. Il-2 requires a good rig and flight stick set up, with flight physics that can be scaled up or down. It took me a while just to be able to take off and land without crashing, but that was hundreds of game hours ago. I have been told it is excellent in VR, but I haven't got into that yet.

                                No comparison

I prefer to walk the halls in Vegas with a cigar in my mouth, a bit of Gran Patron Burdeos in my hand while enjoying all the sights and sounds of Sin City when I gamble.

                                But hey, that's just me.

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000.
The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.
