It is not even a full version, as you said mainly just GUI.

Well, if Windows Me, 8, and Vista sucked...
11 is SURE to be the SH!+-SHOW.

Every other version sucks... and 10 isn't super, and a HOG and bog to begin with. WAY more CPU burned because "Microsoft reasons" we don't want to begin with...

Maybe I'll jump on the Desktop Linux train again...
Hell I ran w/ and supported ~1800 Windows/AIX users from a Linux Distro in the past, so it shouldn't be a challenge for me, but it's been a while.

This is so laughable. I can remember a few years ago when MS said that Win10 was the last version they ever build because they could just endlessly update it.

Linux isn't the counter to MS because the developers don't actually finish the software applications for it so the programs are bare bones with no real utility or don't integrate. Has anyone actually tried to use the word processing programs on Linux? Word to the wise... don't.
        Some random thoughts:

Somebody's gotta be the mole so it might as well be me. Seems to be working so far.

Evil doesn't only come in black.

Life is like a discount bakery. Usually everything is just what you ordered. But, occasionally you come face to face with an unexpected fruitcake. Surprise!

If you are wedded to Office, O365 works fine on Linux.

Left for Linux mint and will never go back to windows.

When windows did an upgrade and blocked Firefox and I was never able to get it back.

I hate Microsoft Edge browser even worse than Windows 10.

Plus, Linux mint runs so much faster than Windows 10 bloatware.

i have 3 Lenovo T410 laptops and they all run great on linux mint 20.1

Noice! I've got a T400 and might try a modern GUI Distro on one of these with RAM maxed out and an SSD., again.
I don't really need a laptop anymore, as my tablet handles all pr0nhubz and web browsing I need, but it'd be nice once I start working from home in a free-state, and I might have extra time...

Reading, it sounds like it will automatically install itself in the Fall this year:

I'll be honest, I've never really had a problem with any version. I "think" I may have had an issue with Vista but that's about it.

But then again, all I do is use Office, play games and surf the web. For basic users like me, none of this matters too much except for cost.

Could be like Vista/7. Vista was really just a half baked beta and 7 was the real OS.... 10 could be the beta

I am sure I heard Windows 11 will run Android apps.

Learn how to configure a firewall to block said update. Problem solved.

I REALLY wonder how Steam OS or other modern distros would run on my 8-core i7 with 32GB of RAM and a Samsung M.2... ?

Automatic cron job backups sound WONDERFUL...
